Cristina Cuomo Defends Herself After Getting Shit For Suggesting That Clorox Baths Can Treat Coronavirus Symptoms
Cristina Cuomo got over coronavirus pretty quickly. She contracted the disease after taking care of her husband Chris Cuomo of CNN, who had it pretty bad. Chris’ symptoms were apparently so hardcore that his chills caused him to chip a tooth. Well, Cristina had none of that and it’s all thanks to Clorox baths! Sort of. Cristina shared her homeopathic “remedies” with people and they slapped at her pretty hard for it. So she amended her original comments to say, “Do not take a Clorox bath without talking to a professional.” Still crazy, but more of a warning than the President gave.
Cristina spoke with People and said that she and the couple’s son, Mario, also got coronavirus while their two daughters, Bella and Carolina, did not. Mario and Cristina are feeling much better though and didn’t get hit the way Chris did. She said she was “surprised and not surprised” to get coronavirus herself because even though Chris was living in the basement, they have an open floor plan so they were all breathing the same air. Cristina said she’s “lucky” to have had a mild case of the disease and is doing better, 17 days after her symptoms started. Chris and Mario are also okay. I mean, we already know Chris is okay since he’s back to yelling at strangers while out and about. Cristina said:
“I have to say, the fear I had going into it was far greater than the fear I had while I was in it. I think there’s so much anxiety right now around this virus, and part of it is the fear of knowing there’s no vaccine, and there’s no proven cure or treatments.”
This is why she made a post on her blog, The Purist, about remedies she used for her illness, including taking a bath with 1/4 cup of Clorox. Stinging to the coochie be damned! Cristina also recommended a $300 Vitamin C drip. After getting shit for her post, Cristina said that she was just trying to share some “anecdotal evidence”:
“I think anecdotal evidence is really important right now–what are you feeling, how’s it going for you?–so people get a better understanding of what to expect.”
She has also since amended her original post to say:
“[I am] aware that what I am about to talk about are remedies for people who are already in a privileged situation–we have a roof over our head, enough food to eat and clean drinking water, and not everyone has that… There’s a huge opposition against holistic medicine, I get that… None of these natural remedies below should be taken without consulting a doctor or naturopath… [But] if there’s a potential for something to work, why not investigate it?”
Cristina doesn’t really know if bleaching her bits worked, telling People:
“Who knows if it worked or what it did, but I know that in nine days, I got most of that virus out of my system. This being a virus with no vaccination and no cure, my resolution was to learn as much as I can, go to my same doctor, Linda Lancaster, and follow her protocol, her prescription. And no way am I saying please try this. It’s just the path that I took and I’m sharing it because there isn’t a lot of anecdotal evidence.”
And her next step is to have Instagram Live sessions with mental health and holistic professionals:
“To see them speaking in front of you on your phone and you can ask them a question and they can answer it directly is a whole different ball game. It gives people access.”
Something tells me that Kristin Cavallari is going to love whatever Cristina brings to the table. And now we know what Denise Richard‘s holistically crazy husband Aaron Phypers will get up to next! Regrowing tendons with sound was just the start. Now he’ll join Cristina’s Clorox Army to destroy the coronavirus! Call in A-Rod for some support and this virus doesn’t stand a chance!
