Elon Musk Demands That America End The COVID-19 Lockdown

Elon Musk really needs to pick a lane and stick to it, because he’s getting to be more confusing than Grimes’ makeup routine. Last month, Elon hated on Coachella after it postponed its dates, claiming that it should have been canceled years ago, and accusing it of being a cringeworthy corporate mess. Earlier today, Elon became the cringeworthy corporate mess by using ALL-CAPS to tell the government to release American citizens from the COVID-19 lockdown, and give them back their “freedom” to work.

Dozens of states are still on lockdown (others are partially open and more are planning to partially open this weekend) and despite the country officially surpassing 1 million confirmed cases of COVID-19 yesterday, some people really want to completely re-open for business. Elon Musk is with those people and maybe because Tesla factories in California and New York have been closed for over a month now. That’s bad for business for Elon.

Except Elon didn’t come right out and say he wants to start making cars again. No, he wants everyone to start making money again. Or at the very least, he doesn’t want American citizens to be held captive by COVID-19.

He also congratulated the state of Texas for choosing to reopen businesses this Friday. Texas has decided to reopen under social distancing rules, like malls having no more than 25% of their occupancy rate.

The Guardian points out that Elon did respond to one tweet, saying that re-openings should be done with “care and appropriate protection.” But, he also believes that the government shouldn’t be forcing citizens, “under de facto house arrest.” Wow, Elon really hates this situation. This must be so confusing for him. Like, which one is he supposed to slander on Twitter, the virus, or the lockdown? The biggest issue here though is that Elon might as well be screaming into Grimes’ anti-gravity birthing pod. Elon proved that no one should trust an ounce of Elon’s judgment after he released that terrible EDM song.
