Felicity Huffman And William H. Macy’s Daughter Sophia Was Accepted To College With Her Own SAT Scores
According to Page Six, Felicity Huffman and William H. Macy now have two daughters who have been accepted to college on their own merits. This news has got to be bittersweet for Felicity. On the one hand, she feels the pride of knowing her daughter got into college all on her own. On the other hand, it turns out her daughter really could get into college all on her own. 11 days in a prison-issued jumpsuit, and for what?!?
Unlike Lori Loughlin, who allegedly pulled scams to get both of her daughters into USC, Felicity tried it with just one of her daughters. Felicity pleaded guilty to paying $15,000 for a proctor to boost the SAT scores of her eldest daughter, Sophia Macy. Felicity tried to argue that she only did it because Sophia has learning disabilities. It was later revealed that Sophia didn’t even know her SAT answers were being tampered with, and that she had taken them in good faith. Sophia was later granted permission to re-take the SATs. And her scores were apparently good enough to get into Carnegie Mellon.
A source told Page Six that Sophia, 19, retook her SAT – and that she’s been accepted to prestigious Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh. On Sunday, the young actress posted the school’s logo and two smiley heart emojis to Instagram Stories. She also added “CMU Drama ’24” to her bio.
Sophia is very into drama. What a shock! The child of two actors wants to get into acting. But she is doing it both the hard way (college) as well as the traditional way (nepotism). Sophia will reportedly appear in the second season of Jordan Peele’s The Twilight Zone. Felicity and William H.’s younger daughter, Georgia Macy, reportedly got into Vassar College.
This is Sophia Macy (and not Evan Rachel Wood) by the way:
A source tells Page Six that Felicity is, “so proud” of Sophia, and that it was a, “painful, challenging time” that Sophia pulled through with strength and grace. Painful is putting it mildly. Not only was Sophia’s mom caught in a college bribery sting, but she was also outed as the type of mom who uses slang like “Ruh roh!” in professional email correspondence. I hope Felicity didn’t make it any worse by congratulating her daughter with a hearty, “That’s totes cool SAT news, my homegirl!”
