There hasn’t been this much tension between two conservative blondes since that final sale at Bath & Body Works before the quarantine. Meghan McCain swiped at the woman who basically invented her job of Psychotic Blonde on The View: Elisabeth Hasselbeck. Meghan had problems with how Elisabeth portrayed the coronavirus and let a fellow blonde trick know it, because Meghan may love defending someone’s right to buy an assault rifle, but even she’s got her limits. And Elisabeth has fired back because she’s got the time and needs the attention.
Elisabeth was on The View last month and said that she and her children were going to use prayer and precaution in response to coronavirus and would not “panic”. via Us Weekly:
“We’re going to Purell, pray that God’s got us in our tomorrows, right? We pray that this coronavirus is extinguished, that it’s stopped in its tracks. … I think we should prepare. I think we should pray. I’m not going to let coronavirus rule me!”
Meghan made a WTF face over that, and when she was on Watch What Happens Live! last week, Andy Cohen asked her about it. Meghan dragged Elisabeth for not taking corona seriously, and said that she doesn’t ever need to co-host with Elisabeth again. I understand, Meghan, I also don’t get along with people who are exactly like me. So Elisabeth posted an Instagram video addressed to Meghan and she kept it calmer than usual but still came in hot:
“I don’t like being misrepresented, so we’re going to talk this out right here.”
Karen Elisabeth continued by asking her off-camera son some questions, which she answered herself and explained that she was on The View before social distancing became an official order:
“What do we do when we’re scared about things, bud? We pray… Have we been washing our hands and Purelling? …Yes ma’am? How do you think we feel about social distancing, since mommy has auto-immune things like celiac and asthma? Have we been pretty serious about it? … So Meghan, number one: the day I came to The View it was pre-social distancing orders… we were very early in this cycle with coronavirus; and I will always, always call on God in my prayer when things get scary and when they’re unknown… it will always be my best defense…”

Golly. Getting kids to bed and apparently @meghanmccain is tossing out some anger my way . Meghan- i am going to call you and handle this in the best socially distanced direct manner possible – but hey girl – We are all just doing our best, and I don’t know why you are taking an opportunity to be so aggressive toward me during such a stressful time. #1- I have always liked you and been a vocal defender of your family. I sure did not see this one coming. #2- we are all just trying to do our best, we should not be judging one another we should be in this together #3- get your quotes right. I never said I had the power to pray covid away. The day at the view I came to visit y’all because our hometown had been slammed with a tornado and lives were lost and a school needed help and I was trying to get word out. Nyc was not even in social distancing yet. It was March 11th- it was before anyone was even quarantining – It was the last day the show was in studio, and your major was still encouraging visitors to Chinatown and still working out in gyms! #4 my quote was that I am going to pray and purell. #5 PRAYER will ALWAYS be my FIRST RESPONSE AND MY BEST DEFENSE 🙏🏻💕 We have had a family member hospitalized and I have asthma. This is all hard and stressful enough- turn off the meanness as The world needs more togetherness and kindness. I’m praying today that you can lay off throwing the social darts at me. I am not sure why you decided to do this. I’m a momma on my knees in prayer like many others – let’s get back in the same side and be #inthistogether 🙏🏻💕
Err, I think the Purell is your best defense in this specific case. And maybe you can also pray for God to teach you the best angle to film a selfie-video, because that one is not it. But Elisabeth better chill out. Meghan already took out one conservative woman this year and so she can easily make it two.
