Tiffany Haddish Tried To Deny That She’s Got Anything Going On With Common

The coronavirus has forced people inside their homes and made it so that you should only leave your home if it’s completely necessary, like going out to get groceries. But people are finding ways to connect with others while at home. The dating app Bumble has made it easy for those who are single can mingle through virtual dates. They recently showed everyone just how easy it is to date through your iPhone screen by showing famous single people Tiffany Haddish and Common going on a virtual Bumble date. By all accounts, it looked like the date went well. But if you ask Tiffany, there are no virtual wedding bells ringing in her future, because she’s as single as single can be.

40-year-old Tiffany and the 48-year-old Common have been friends for a while. Naturally, because they’re both single and hang out a lot, some people on the internet were wondering if there might be some hooking up happening between the two.

Yesterday, Bumble added more fuel to the fire by releasing a video of Tiffany and Common going on a virtual quarantine date from their respective homes. It’s just like a regular date, except it’s being watched by millions of strangers over the internet, and all those strangers are asking, “Wait a second, who is filming them? Are they wearing a protective mask? I hope they’re standing at least six feet away.

Midway through their date, Common suggests they order some food from some local restaurants in Los Angeles and Chicago, and have the food delivered to medical workers. At the end, they both signed off with, “Love you.” It’s important to note that Tiffany gets paid to promote Bumble. So essentially, we were watching a commercial. Duped! I can’t believe Bumble would play us like that at a time when we’re all bored and desperate enough to watch someone else’s virtual date. Especially since Tiffany might have killed the illusion a few weeks ago, when Common popped up in the background of an interview she was doing with Cedric the Entertainer. And Tiffany more than implied that she and Common were quarantining together. Hmmm…

Tiffany and Common have dropped some very convincing breadcrumbs that form a trail to a giant neon sign that reads, “YES, WE ARE.” Except that’s apparently not the vibe Tiffany wants to be putting out. E! News points out that Tiffany made a virtual appearance on the TODAY show yesterday. Hoda Kotb asked Tiffany who she’s quarantining with, and she answered that it’s just her, her brother, her dog, and her cat. When Hoda asked Tiffany about her Bumble use, Tiffany said she’s still “dating” through the app. Eventually Hoda asked about the Common rumors, to which Tiffany answered: “He’s on Bumble. We went on a virtual Bumble date.” When Hoda pressed further by asking, “That’s it?“, Tiffany shot back with, “Yeah. Get out of my bedroom, Hoda!

Tiffany might be telling the truth, which is that she only went on one Bumble date with her friend, and she’s keeping her quarantine dating options. Or, maybe the truth is that Tiffany is locked down with Common, and she doesn’t want to fuck up that Bumble paycheck, so she’s putting her Girls Trip acting lessons to good use by pretending she’s still single enough to keep opening that Bumble app. Whatever the reality of the situation, I have to applaud how much effort she put into that possibly fake/maybe real Bumble date. There’s no way I’m fighting with 2-inch spider lashes and lash glue for a date that takes place on my couch.
