Joshua Jackson And Jodie Turner-Smith’s Baby Is Finally Here

When we last checked in on the status of Joshua Jackson and Jodie Turner-Smith’s forthcoming baby, said baby had officially passed their eviction date by several days, and still had not packed a single moving box yet. Not that I blame them; I wouldn’t want to leave the spot I’ve been locked down in for the past nine months, just to enter a new, less-cozy lockdown location. Well, their baby has arrived.

People magazine says that reps for 33-year-old Jodie and 41-year-old Joshua have confirmed their daughter has been born. This is the first child for both Jodie and Joshua, who have been married for approximately four months.

We don’t know where the baby was born, what day she was born on, how much she weighed, or if an instrumental version of a Paula Cole song could be heard the first time Pacey – I mean, Joshua – held his newborn daughter (that last one can probably be assumed to have absolutely happened). All we got was this statement from their reps:

“Both mother and baby are happy and healthy.”

As for the father, I’m sure he’s fine as well. Or at least as good as he can be under the circumstances. Joshua admitted last month that he was getting a little anxious about the baby arriving right smack dab in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic. I know personally that those first few weeks with a newborn can turn any reasonable person into a major germaphobe. That’s probably why their reps only commented on mother and baby. Father was too busy scrubbing down every last square inch in their house with scalding hot water and bleach to be available for comment.

All we can do is wait now to see what they named their baby girl. Jodie has said that she would love it if they could raise their child in Canada (where Joshua is originally from), instead of the US (where they work) or the UK (where Jodie is from). If they really want their kid to fit in up here in Canada, then I hope their baby name reflects some of the most iconic women in Canadian history. Or hell, why not a whole bunch of them? If I had to guess, the name printed on that birth certificate is Shaniavriléline Rae Jepsen Turner-Smith-Jackson. It just rolls off the tongue.
