Chris Cuomo Got Caught Not Social Distancing––And Took It Out On A Stranger

CNN anchor Chris Cuomo has had a rough few weeks. He apparently hates his job one minute, then loves it the next. This love-hate pattern also seems to carryover anytime he interviews his brother, Governor Andrew Cuomo, on TV. And rather than do the sensible thing and take some time off to recover from his insanely stressful year, which included a COVID-19 diagnosis that resulted in tooth-chippingly bad symptoms, he chose to pull the dumbass move of going outside (!!!) and risk spreading coronavirus to everyone.

The New York Post says that Chris, who is known for acting totally calm and rational when provoked by everyday, non-TV people, had another interesting run-in with a member of the public this past Easter Sunday when a man, who is only identifying himself as “David”, says he saw Chris and his family checking out a property they’re building on in East Hampton.

The 65-year-old David, says he was riding his bike, alone, around his neighborhood when he saw Chris, his wife, another woman, and three small kids on the property. At that point, David, shouted from across the street and it turned into an exchange that I’m only sorry did not come with an accompanying video.

“I just looked and said, ‘Is that Chris Cuomo? Isn’t he supposed to be quarantined?’” David said the woman who looked like Cuomo’s wife came over to him and said, “May I help you?” He said he replied, “I’m riding my bike” — then started asking why Cuomo was there out of quarantine and not social-distancing from the group. He said Cuomo then started toward him, coming to within about 40 feet. “He said, ‘Who the hell are you?! I can do what I want!’” David said. “He just ranted, screaming, ‘I’ll find out who you are!’

“I said to him, ‘Your brother is the coronavirus czar, and you’re not even following his rules — unnecessary travel,’” David said. “He just began to boil more. “He said, ‘This is not the end of this. You’ll deal with this later. We will meet again.’ If that’s not a threat, I don’t know what is,” David said. “I hate bullies.”

By the way, Chris’ wife has since tested positive for COVID-19, but is in good condition.

The day after this alleged incident, Chris went on his Sirius XM radio show, where he made the initial comments about hating his job because, being a respected news anchor, he couldn’t tell David to “go to hell”. Chris then continued to rail on the concerned citizen, saying:

“I don’t want some jackass, loser, fat-tire biker being able to pull over and get in my space and talk bullshit to me, I don’t want to hear it.”

David, who initially called the police to report that incident the next day, has since made it clear that he doesn’t intend to press charges, provided Chris doesn’t show up at his house to lick all his doorknobs, which may sound petty––but so does calling a guy who points out your fuck-up a jackass, loser fat-tire biker.

Chris needs to stay his ass inside and also calm the fuck down. Hopefully, when all this is over, Chris can let out his rage in a spin class in East Hampton? I mean, provided David doesn’t show up to the same one.

Here’s David telling the story:
