Michael Bublé’s Wife Luisana Lopilato Shut Down Fans Who Suspected Him Of Abuse
A good chunk of the planet is currently locked down in their homes, and that’s bad news for famous people. All the non-famous people are too busy baking banana bread and painting triangles on their walls. If you’ve got a dog and a pap’s phone number, you’re set. But others have to get creative if they want to remain relevant. And it seems like broadcasting live from their living rooms is currently the most popular plan of action. But Michael Bublé and his wife Luisana Lopilato recently found out that it doesn’t take long for the internet to dissect every frame of your live feed for evidence of what they believe is a domestic hostage situation.
Michael and Luisana have a daily live stream where they release all manner of at-home content, like cooking segments and Q&As. Personally, I’m getting all the quarantine content I need from Leslie Jordan, but I’m not everyone and everyone isn’t me. So clearly Michael and Luisana have found a dedicated audience during this time.
Luisana, who has been married to Michael Bublé since 2011, is from Argentina, and was a model and presenter before she got married. So she has her own set of fans who jumped to her defense and dragged Michael on social media over what they think is controlling, abusive, or generally asshole husband behavior.
Like this one Twitter user who posted a video clip from a recent at-home live stream, which shows Michael shoving Luisana after she jumped on his line, followed by a stiff yank on her arm. A quick internet translation tells me this fan is wondering, “I don’t know about you, but I saw this and was outraged by Michael’s treatment of Luisana, I was seriously WTF.”

Or this clip, in which Michael gets visibly pissed when his wife interrupts his struggle-Spanish plugs for Amazon and Disney+.

ONTD has a collection of some of the more concerned responses. One tweet, translated from Spanish, says:
“I saw the entire thing and it’s horrible!. Imposing behaviour, his gaze towards her and the almost forced, super sad ending. It shocked me a lot. Thousands of people watching and only one fan notices the abuse.”
Another, again translated from Spanish, wrote:
“Just saw it and he’s truly awful. He’s annoyed all the time for the translation, he’s bothered by her doing the translation over his reading and that she fixes his hair.”
Obviously some of that online concern made it’s way back to Luisana. According to Hello! Canada, she released a statement on Sunday, via Instagram, in which she explained that jealous haters are making up lies about her husband in an attempt to get fame and social media followers.
The first part of her IG post translates to: “Always do the right thing and leave the consequences to God.” According to a quick internet translation, the caption reads:
“It is incredible how some human beings are!! While we cross this pandemic, and we live moments of confinement, anguish, fear, loneliness, uncertainties of all kinds! Every day we go out with my husband to live to bring them a little joy, entertainment, longing, and we have to bear to listen and see what malicious people publish who come out to talk about anything and without knowing anything about our family, and then of all the pain we went through with Mike, I want you to know that I have no doubts who my husband is and I would choose him a thousand times more!! It’s not fair! This person is doing harm and taking advantage of this pandemic where people are suffering, dying and locked up, to have fame and more followers. He is telling lies that I will not allow because he disrespects my family, so I ask you who have trusted me so much for years that you do not allow it either! Without more to say and doing what I think is right when they mess with my family, I leave the consequences to God! The world needs more than ever ‘love, hope, values, unity and solidarity,’ NOT these types of people.”
That’s right. Michael Bublé would never disrespect his wife! Women he’s not married to, well – that’s another story. But the woman he loves? Never! Although if one of Michael’s alleged ex-girlfriends is to be believed, Michael might not exactly be the most bubbly person to be around if he’s not getting his own way. But despite what you might think about Michael’s appearance on those live streams, Luisana swears Michael isn’t some secret Phil Spector type. I suppose a video from Michael would help her case. If he really wants us to believe he’s a good guy who would never do anything awful to his wife, he also has to swear he’s never made Luisana listen to his cover of “Santa Baby.”
