Lauren, the twerking duck!

IN THIS ECONOMY and IN THIS QUARANTINE, us humans have to find a way to put food on the table, and no, this isn’t going to lead me to telling you that Lauren the twerking duck became the food. What I’m getting at is that we have to teach our animals how to make it rain so they can hit up the club at the farm and bring in the bacon, literally. Lauren the duck here is ready after her human taught her how to shake a tail feather. Prepare to throw bread crumbs at the screen as Lauren twerks for her feathers off.

Lauren’s human Clay tells BuzzFeed that his brother bought Lauren five years ago. When his brother went off to college, Clay became Lauren’s adopted dad and he’s been taking care of her ever since. Lauren mostly spends time in the backyard, but Clay sometimes let her come inside, including to guest star on his TikToks. And back in the pre-lockdown days of February, he got the song “If I Back It Up, Is It Fat Enough” by Cookiee Kawaii, which is popular on TikTok, stuck in his head, and then he realized that when you touch Lauren’s feather, she shakes that tail. So he put the two together in a video that has since gone viral AND HOW. In the video, Lauren shows Daisy Duck up with her twerking skills:

@hartyt_Shout out to my wonderful family for helping with this 😂##throwit ##chicken ##chickenforthrowit♬ Vibe – Cookiee Kawaii

Clay says he’s been getting words of praise about the happiness that the video has brought people, and he’s glad he and Lauren could provide a smile and a laugh during these shit times. But he has a message for anyone who wants to get a twerking duck of their own:

“If anyone hears this and is thinking of getting a duck, if you have a pretty good-sized backyard and you can fit a kiddie pool, you can do it,” he said. “But if you have an apartment, don’t get a duck.”

Oh but Clay, there’s no way the backyard can contain Lauren now that she’s gotten a huge taste of fame. I mean, she’s got natural duck lips, can twerk like no other, and millions of people love watching her. Calabasas, here she comes! It’s finally over for those Kartrashians!
