Adele is in the middle of a divorce with her estranged husband Simon Konecki, and her fortune is on the line. Recently, it has been reported that Adele’s soon-to-be ex will walk away with tons of her money. However, we’ll probably never know exactly how much Simon will get, because Adele has asked to a judge to keep details hush-hush, and the judge granted her wish.
Adele got married to Simon, the father of her 7-year-old son Angelo, back in 2016, and they split last April. It was rumored that Adele and Simon didn’t have a prenup when they got married, and if that was true, then Simon would be entitled to half of Adele’s assets. Some claimed Adele had £140 million on line, while a general search on the internet showed that Adele is worth £150 million, or $185 million. Adele filed for divorce last September in Los Angeles, and they’ve been working out custody details and financials ever since. Most recently, the internet lit up when it was revealed that Simon had allegedly secured his share of the £140 million up for grabs, according to The Blast. It was a bit confusing, because some sites made it seem as though Adele stood to lose £140 million. And that made the internet upset, because £150 million minus £140 million barely leaves enough for Adele to get her nails filled.
And I guess the only way we’ll know for sure how much money Adele has left is to wait and see how busted her nails get, or if her next album is titled 32 (my age, but also my bank account balance thanks to you know who). The Daily Mail claims that all the details of Adele’s divorce will be sealed and secured.
“Adele’s request to keep the details of her divorce from Simon Konecki private has reportedly been granted by a court in Los Angeles. According to new claims, the musician and her estranged husband will share custody of their seven-year-old son Angelo, but ‘financial, sales or other confidential business information’ regarding the proceedings will not be publicly available.”
The Sun UK adds that Adele didn’t want to spend years and years fighting Simon in court, so they’re wrapping things up as quickly as possible.
“Hollywood divorces can drag on for years and become extremely ugly. Adele and Simon clearly don’t want that,” said one source. “They are both committed to keeping the details as private as possible for the sake of their son. They are trying to work out their issues.”
The only detail we know at the moment is that Adele allegedly hooked Simon up with a house down the street from her $8.5 million home in Beverly Hills. If Simon really did walk away with half, and Adele really is worth $185 million, then it would be reasonable to assume Simon is $92.5 million richer. Which is a lot of money. It’s not MacKenzie Bezos money, but it’s not the Price is Right losing horn either. Whatever it was, it was too much! Cutting Adele’s bank account in half will practically leave her broke – or at least the very rich person version of broke. That’s probably why she was seen hitting on Santa at a Christmas Eve party last year. Adele knew she was about to lose a ton of money, and she was planting some sugar daddy seeds with a rich old man. Smart move, but I wish it didn’t have to come to that.
