Open Post: Hosted By Elizabeth Gillies’s Spot-On Recreation Of Angelina Jolie’s Oscar Speech

Cast your minds back to a simpler time. Like 2000, when the most controversial thing you could do at an awards show was make-out with your brother in front of the cameras. Well,  someone is clearly feeling the boredom of self-isolation because Elizabeth Gillies of Dynasty 2.0 has attempted to recreate Angelina Jolie‘s Best Supporting Actress Oscar speech in all its creepy glory. And while we don’t get any incestuous tongue action in this clip, it’s pretty accurate nonetheless.

A pre-saint Angie got an Oscar nomination for her role in 1999’s Girl, Interrupted. She showed up to the ceremony dressed like Morticia Addams, arm in arm with her brother, James Haven. When her name was announced as the winner, she got up on stage and proceeded to express her undying love for him.

Now, Elizabeth has recaptured the tender moment, donning a frighteningly similar shake ‘n go wig, and miming along to a live track of Angie’s speech. The look is on-point. The mannerisms are seamless. Who says COVID-19 is affecting the entertainment industry? More actors should paint themselves up in drag and mouth along to movies that have already been made. Everybody watching is drunk most of the time, anyway. It’d be a riot!

Here’s the recreated video, followed by the original. Who did it/wore it best?
