Eminem spoke with Mike Tyson on his Hotboxin‘ podcast/YouTube show and talked about it all. Eminem got into his early life doing rap battles, and how he got his big break with Dr. Dre, and how he’s super proud of his daughter for not having a kid. It’s the little things… or big things, if you ask Eminem.
24-year-old Hailie Jade Scott (no relation to Olivia Jade) is, of course, his daughter with his ex Kim Scott. Eminem also adopted and helped raise 26-year-old Alaina Marie Mathers, the daughter of Kim’s deceased twin sister, and 17-year-old Whitney Scott Mathers, Kim’s daughter with a different partner. So Eminem is a Girl Dad™. via People:
“I have a niece that I have helped raised, too, that’s… pretty much like a daughter to me, and she is 26. And then I have a younger one that’s 17 now… So when I think about my accomplishments like that’s probably the thing that I’m the most proud of, you know, is that–is being able to raise kids.”
Eminem said that it’s important for famous people’s kids to be kept “grounded.” He also said he’s “proud” of Hailie for not getting a case of the babies:
“No babies… Just a boyfriend. She’s doing good… She’s made me proud for sure.”
Hailie also graduated from college with a 3.9 GPA in psychology at Michigan State University, so like… there’s that too. Eminem says “it definitely is crazy” how much his daughter has grown. It is crazy. Twenty years ago this man was writing songs about killing his girlfriend, and now he’s praising his daughter for graduating from college and doing it without a baby on her hip.
But I mean, if we’re going to be honest, Eminem should be proudest of Hailie for being an Instagram influencer, a career that is extremely important during these worrying times of a pandemic:
