Reader Ken pointed me to this tweet from legendary voice artiste Samantha Newark, who did the speaking voice of Jem. Hasbro put out several PSAs starring Jem in the 80s, and Samantha reworked one of them to tell know-it-alls without medical degrees to not prescribe meds to their sicks friends. In the PSA, some little blonde girl thinks she’s fucking Doogina Howser, M.D., and tells her sick friend that he can take the medicine that she just picked up from the drugstore for her dad. What’s really disturbing is that the little drug pusher is going to give it to him for free! I mean, if you’re going to be a drug pusher, at least charge and make some money. Embarrassing!
And as the little kids are walking, the biggest pop star in the world just so happens to be leaning against her car, as though she’s about to sell them drugs herself. But instead of that, Jem, who overheard it all, educates that little dumbass on coronavirus, and tells the brats there’s no medication for COVID-19 right now so to take their asses inside and wash their nasty hands! Schooltime, Synergy!

So let’s see, Jem is telling everyone that there’s currently no medication available that fights corona, and yet, Trump is telling the people that hydroxychloroquine and chloroquine could cure corona (which has led to a death). One is truly outrageous in a good way, and the other is truly outrageous in a bad way. Trump, have a seat, and let Jem handle it from here!
