Chet Hanks Says His Parents, Tom Hanks And Rita Wilson, Are Out Of The Hospital

March 17, 2020 / Posted by:

This is an important announcement from Chester M. Hanks regarding his parents Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson, who are both actors in Hollywood. Chet’s parents tested positive for COVID-19 while in Australia and were hospitalized for 14 days in isolation. Chet has news to offer about his parent’s condition, which he shared in an Instagram video. First, the good news. Tom and Rita are feeling better and have been discharged from the hospital. They have moved into self-quarantine in their temporary home in Australia (where Tom is filming Baz Luhrmann’s Elvis biopic). Now for the bad news. Somehow Chet has gotten a hold of a shirt AND a jacket and made his video announcement fully clothed while looking like he sells loosies on the street corner for $0.25.

Here’s Chester’s news.

That was obviously the wrong video. My apologies. Much like Bradley Cooper in A Star Is Born, I just wanted to get another look at him. Thanks for indulging me, folks. Here’s Chet’s update about his parents, the actors Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson. You may remember Tom from Forrest Gump! I’m honestly not sure what Rita’s been in. Oh right, Mixed Nuts! Look, when you can list Chet Hanks as a significant achievement on your resume, everything else is just gravy.

It was very kind of Tom and Rita to give Chet this exclusive. In case you have trouble understanding Chet’s Caucasian vernacular, here’s a summary of what he said. (via NBC News)

“So quick update on my folks, they’re out of the hospital,” Chet Hanks said on Instagram Monday. “They’re still self-quarantined, obviously, but they’re feeling a lot better.”

Chet went on to urge people to stay calm, to not be selfish, and to think of others. It was surprisingly thoughtful and earnest. I may require assistance getting up off the floor. Meanwhile, Tom’s other son, Colin Hanks, has once again proven himself to be an embarrassment to his family by not offering an update on his parents’ condition at all. He is spending his time posting corona memes.

In all sincerity, I’m thankful to Tom, Rita, Chet and yes, even Colin, for sharing their coronavirus journey with us while managing to strike a balance between seriousness and levity, which is really the only way any of us are getting through this intact.
