Dennis Quaid And His Fiancee Have Postponed Their Wedding Because of Coronavirus

Bad news, you guys. If, like me, you have been counting down the days to savor all of the grandiose, post-nuptial photos from the wedding of the year, I regret to inform you that you’ll just have to hang on a little longer. People is reporting that Dennis Quaid and his fiancee Laura Savoie have postponed their upcoming wedding ceremony amid fears of coronavirus.

Now, I can’t confirm, but I’m sure there were going to be hundreds of thousands of people gathering in the streets outside the church, tears and snot streaming down their faces, as the bloom of everlasting Hollywood love totally blinds them from afar, so postponing until a rampant, crowd-hungry viral disease is no longer swarming the globe was definitely a smart move. We’ll all just have to try to get through this together.

You’ll remember (at the time, I wrote it in my dream journal) that Dennis, 65, popped the question to Laura, 29, in October 2019 after only a few months of dating. Needless to say, once Laura realized she’d be getting her hands on all that Dennis Quaid scrumptiousness, she jumped at the opportunity.

“I had the ring in my pocket. It has been kind of a month-and-a-half plan — I wanted it to be private,” Dennis told Extra of the “sunset” proposal. “She was actually taking a selfie of us, and I put the ring in front and said, ‘Will you marry me?’ And then she fell down.”

There’s a coronavirus joke at the end of that quote that I am NOT going to dignify with a response.

But the real tragedy in postponing a Quaid public gathering is that we’ll have to wait THAT much longer to maybe catch a glimpse of the ultimate kooks, Randy Quaid and his wife, Evi, provided they’re both not too busy trying to initiate a threeway with a mailbox on a street corner somewhere in Canada. Or, the always possible appearance of an uninvited Meg Ryan turning up and acting out the backyard scene from Parasite.

There has been no word yet of a possible rescheduled date, or even what season we can expect to see Dennis walk down the aisle (for a fourth time). This coronavirus is fucking up everything and it might not even be the worst of it. But we’ll all be on the edge of our seats. As soon as this pandemic has cooled off, we’ll all be expecting to see some GLAMOUR.
