Joy Behar Is Temporarily Stepping Back From “The View” Over Coronavirus
Coronavirus strikes again. The View is temporarily losing its longest-running hen, leaving the roost to cluck along without her. Joy Behar is leaving for a while since she’s not trying to catch coronavirus. The thing is, she’s in a riskier age group at 77 years old. So she announced she’s taking time off from the show.
The View is just one of the many shows no longer allowing live audiences in for tapings in an effort to prevent spread of coronavirus. They’re taking it seriously since Tom Hanks getting infected rocked the celebrity world like, “Damn! This isn’t just a disease for the poor nobodies!?” But while many shows like The Wendy Williams Show, The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, The Tonight Show, and Late Night, have decided to suspend taping altogether, The View is going on.
Variety says at a pre-taped episode which aired today, Joy announced her temporary departure from the show. Her daughter probably watched that Joe Rogan video about corona and texted her to make her stay home. Joy said her daughter sent her a text telling her to get real and convinced her to stop putting herself at risk by going to work every weekday.
“I’m in a higher risk group because of my age, but I’m perfectly healthy. I don’t look my age, but I’m actually up there. The number makes me dizzy.”
No one at the show has tested positive for coronavirus. Joy taking a break is just a precaution. Joy won’t be on the show all next week, and her return will be decided at a later time. Whoopi Goldberg, Sunny Hostin, and Meghan McCain will all keep the show going. We’ll see you on the other side of this pandemic, Joy! I guess Meghan McCain will just have to hiss “bitch” at Sunny in the meantime. We know she will not get away with doing that to Whoopi.
