Katy Perry Says That She And Taylor Swift Are Too Busy To Be Close Friends 

If social media was a junior high school (which it is), then Taylor Swift would be that shady chick commenting on everything with a winky face while Katy Perry says exactly what she means followed by the hashtag #sorrynotsorry. In other words, these broads both need to calm down, which is ironic since the two officially buried their respective hatchets in Taylor’s video of the same name. However, that was last June, which basically means it was a million years ago in Hollywood terms. So where do they stand now?

It’s no secret that Taylor and Katy were scrappin’ for years, and used that rivalry to in$$$$pire their “art.” But Katy extended a literal olive branch in 2018 and they put down their bedazzled shivs and moved on. For her part, Taylor has been too busy giving the Grammys the middle finger to be bothered with any Katy related drama, however Katy has broken her silence and gave the most PR-drenched answer ever. In an interview with The Daily Telegraph, Katy was asked how things were between she and Taylor and she basically gave the seasoning-free version of Mariah Carey’s world famous J. Lo diss “I don’t know her” with a side of “Because we’re both so BUSY!!!” 

“Well, we don’t have a very close relationship because we are very busy, but we text a lot. I was impressed by her documentary [Miss Americana] because I saw some self-awareness starting to happen and I saw a lot of vulnerability.

I was really excited for her to be able to show that to the world: that things aren’t perfect, they don’t have to be and it’s more beautiful when they aren’t. Even though it was difficult, it was important to make that appearance in the music video because people want people to look up to.”

“I saw some self-awareness starting to happen…” That sound you just heard was the high-pitched screech that Taylor let out while shoving that olive branch up her Katy Perry voodoo doll for that nugget of shadiness.

I would have honestly preferred if Katy kept it real by leaving out the part about how they text each other all the time, because you know that’s a lie. Katy probably throws her phone away and gets a new number every time Taylor texts her, because who has time to decipher messages with a million heart and rainbow emojis?
