Courtney Love Shared Memories Of Anna Nicole Smith On Instagram

It’s been thirteen whole years since the iconic Trimspa Baby herself, Anna Nicole Smith, died from a drug overdose. 2007 did us dirty (it also took Tammy Faye!). I often wonder what kind of hijinks Anna Nicole would’ve gotten into in the age of social media (can you imagine those Instagram Lives?), but let’s be real… she was surrounded by pills, money, leeches (does Howard K. Stern ring any bells?), and more pills.

Yesterday Courtney Love, who just announced she’s eighteen months sober, posted a tribute to Anna Nicole on her Instagram with a bunch of photos of the night they met in Vegas after the 2004 World Music Awards.

Courtney called Anna Nicole the most beautiful woman she’s ever seen and told the tale of the time the dynamic duo ended up “in some rich dudes high roller suite downing shots”.  And talked about the struggles of addiction.

Las Vegas . 2004. Anna Nicole , I was 2 days out of a crap money pit rehab in Orange County . . She started the evening by offering me cotton candy 🍭, she was pretty much the most beautiful woman I’d ever seen, and I have seen so many , we ended up in some rich dudes high roller suite downing shots and etc. I think there’s footage, Thats been disposed of by the E! Channel , in between there was a music “ awards “ show . It was corny , something to do with Monaco , it was televised, Robbie Williams. Heidi Klum? I don’t know. Man, she was incredibly beautiful like a mist, she trailed me all night . We had fun. I’m very grateful to have met her. Vegas is terrifying . And it’s rare and hard to be able to keep any length of sobriety at all, grateful for the little bit I have tonight .A Savage slip stream , tsunami of chaos hit her. A senseless waste . She wasn’t resilient enough to rise above in the moment the water washed over her head, the wave hit her wrong, it’s just a matter of luck, angles , seconds , she didn’t have the right skills or men (or women) strong 💪 enough to pull her up, how sad and fucked. What a beauty what a pity how many times it could have been me. Or you , So many .. rip sweet pretty Anna Nicole we love you tonight …

You can’t re-write history, Court! Avril was there, as flesh and blood as you or Anna Nicole! Maybe Courtney just felt like a poseur next to a real punk rocker?
