Piers Morgan Accused Jameela Jamil Of Harassing Caroline Flack, And She Slapped Back
Two very chill, kind people, Piers Morgan and Jameela Jamil, are attacking each other on Twitter over claims that Jameela online-bullied the late Caroline Flack back in October. This one has a lot of complicated, depressing back story, so let’s just dive in and get it over with…
On February 15, English TV presenter Caroline Flack died by suicide. She was dealing with some heavy shit at the time. She was awaiting trial for the alleged assault of her boyfriend and had been fired from her job on Love Island. Many blamed the media and online bullying for Caroline’s death since the tabloids were constantly on her ass.
A couple days after Caroline’s death, Jameela Jamil tweeted that she was blocking Piers Morgan. Apparently these two (Jameela and Piers) have been engaged in a Twitter war the past few years, which is shocking, because they’re both famous for holding their tongues and minding their own business. Here’s the tweet:
I’ve decided to block Piers. He’s using his platform ONLY to perpetuate the hateful emotional violence that leads to the nervous breakdown of young, vulnerable people. In and out of the spotlight. I expose his name to a new young audience when I tweet him, which endangers them. pic.twitter.com/adXqZbXURM

The tweet was obviously alluding to the hate in the media that contributed to Caroline’s suicide. But Piers even had a problem with that, because… ugh, just read what The Daily Mail wrote:
The #BeKind hashtag has been trending, but Morgan also took aim at people he accused of ‘pretending to care’.
He tweeted: ‘Where was #BeKind social media when Caroline was alive & going through the worst time of her life?
‘She got destroyed on here for weeks, by many of the people I now see pretending to care about her & demanding a ‘kinder’ Twitter/Media. It’s such hypocritical bulls***.
Lovely. Now, let’s rewind to a simpler time: October of 2019. Caroline was promoting a new show she was hosting called Surjury, in which contestants compete for plastic surgery by making their case to a jury. So, The Swan meets 12 Angry Men. But British. Jameela attacked the show on Twitter, comparing it to a Black Mirror dystopia, and Caroline was inundated with critical tweets from a bunch of Jameela’s followers.
Cut to yesterday. After Caroline’s suicide and the Jameela Twitter-block, Piers posted some screenshots of messages he received from Caroline in October:
Jameela Jamil is having a lot to say about online harassment, so in the interests of balance, here is a message Caroline Flack sent me last October after the same Jameela Jamil led an online pile-on against her regarding a new TV show she was doing. pic.twitter.com/zegVBVEseY

Jameela responded with:
I simply said I found the show “surjury” (not her) problematic for kids to watch. And that love island needed some more diversity. Both times Caroline instigated debate with ME even though I was not targeting or blaming her at all. I always just politely explained my point. pic.twitter.com/XL9UdrQTcy

Piers Using a dead woman who I was friends with, as a weapon to try to create further harassment for me as I’ve JUST explained publicly that last week I felt suicidal… is why he is this industry’s most problematic . My criticizing a *show* did not aim any hate at Caroline.

Jameela saying she felt suicidal last week is a reference to all the Munchausen/fake-illness claims brought against her by Tracie Egan Morrisey. I was obsessed with that award-winning investigative saga, and the conclusion I came to was: I need a life.
The season finale of Love Island aired last night, and the episode was dedicated to Caroline Flack. The new host, Laura Whitmore, paid tribute to Caroline (via Daily Mail):
‘The past week has been extremely difficult coming to terms with the loss of our friend and colleague Caroline. We’re thinking of her family and everyone who knew her at this time.
‘Caroline loved Love Island, she loved love and that’s why tonight’s final is dedicated to her.’
A montage of Flack’s most memorable moments from the show she hosted from 2015 to 2019 then followed with a backing track of Rudimental’s ‘Feel the Love.’
The answer to the equation Jameela + Piers is always: MESS. But I would think that Piers Morgan and Jameela Jamil would temporarily stop throwing shit at each other to bond over the fact that they’ve both been accused of health fakery.
