Steve Madden Went Off On Alice + Olivia’s Stacey Bendet Over Claims Of Copying

February 19, 2020 / Posted by:

Stacey Bendet, the designer behind fashion brand Alice + Olivia, got into it with Steve Madden and she filmed the messiness. Stacey and Steve are feuding over the alleged copying of designs. And Stacey is not going to let Steve get away with it, and Steve is absolutely going to tell her to “fuck yourself”.

TMZ says that back in 2018, Stacey sued one of Steve’s brands, Betsey Johnson (which he bought in 2010), for copying her “StaceFace” design:

They reached a confidential settlement last June, but it seems both are still salty about it. Stacey posted video of her run-in with Steve to her Instagram page, telling her followers that Steve complimented her outfit, and she then asked if he was going to steal her style like he’s done before. This set Steve off and he told her:

“Honey, if you’re going to be rude, you can go fuck yourself. You can go fuck yourself if you’re gonna be rude to me. You copy people all the time.”

I usually have my feed filled with positivity, female empowerment and the beautiful clothes my team and i are so proud to create—-but today I am posting this example of bullying, copying, and overall disrespect toward creativity and women—[email protected] launches a verbal assault on me in a hotel lobby—-he said hello and complemented my outfit and I asked him if he was going to continue to copy it like he did with my trademarked stace designs 🤷‍♀️—-you can see him lose his temper and become aggressive using vulger language all while my four year old screams mommy in the background——I am sharing this because his behavior is not acceptable in business or life—-he could have apologized or showed some remorse—but no, he responds with intimidation—we can’t stop bullies unless we stand up to them!!! I hope what my daughters learned was how you never let a man or anyone) speak to you this way!

Stacey considers this “a verbal assault” and says her four-year-old daughter was there and he exposed her to bullying. But honestly, I can hear that girl in the background and she sounds over it saying, “Mom! Come on! Mommy? Mama! Mom!” That girl wants her mom to stop talking to that old man. I am that child.

Some celebs took Stacey’s side like Selma Blair who commented:

“I’m with you.”

And Michelle Trachtenberg wrote:

“He is just appalling!! Good for you for showing that evil vile excuse for a man. Thank you for being the amazing boss and friend that you are!! I love you!”

Rich people fighting in public. How uncouth! Don’t these two know that as rich people, they should fight through their lawyers and “leaked” stories given to Page Six? You would never see Martha Stewart chucking a jade coochie egg at Gwyneth Paltrow in public. She’d get one of her minions to do it like a true rich person does.
