Wendy Williams Made A “Price Is Right” Joke About The Death Of Drew Carey’s Ex-Fiancee Amie Harwick

February 18, 2020 / Posted by:

Amie Harwick, a 38-year-old sex therapist who was engaged to Drew Carey in 2018 before they broke up about a year later, died over the weekend after falling from a third-story balcony at her home in the Hollywood Hills, and police are investigating her death as a murder. They’ve arrested her ex-boyfriend Gareth Pursehouse who has been described as a stalker and who Amie had a restraining order out against until it expired two weeks ago. It’s a situation that’s hard to joke about but leave it to Wendy Williams to find a way. It IS February sweeps and that attention isn’t going to get itself (as Wendy sweeps whatever public sympathy she had left into the gutter).

Fresh off from fake apologizing to the LGBTQ community after saying that gay men want to be women and need to stop wearing skirts and heels, Wendy decided to wink at unemployment some more by pissing off people again. While discussing the tragic death of Amie during Hot Topics on her show yesterday, Wendy decided to take a chill approach to the topic. She told the audience after mentioning that Amie fell to her death:

“She was killed not by Drew–but by the ex, um…“Come on down!”…”

Wendy then looked up and pretended to watch something fall down. Yeah. And the “joke” fell so flat that even her audience groaned while secretly wishing that they got tickets for a taping of Maury, which is a million times more classy compared to Wendy’s show. Wendy’s good decision starts at the 10:35 mark:

Representatives for Drew, Wendy and CBS had no comment, but Drew did give this sad statement about Amie’s death, and the filming of Price Is Right has been put on hiatus while he mourns:

“Amie and I had a love that people are lucky to have once in a lifetime… She was positive force in the world, a tireless and unapologetic champion for women, and passionate about her work as a therapist. I am overcome with grief. I would like to thank you in advance for giving myself and everyone who loved Amie privacy while we try to work through this tragic situation.”

Okay, who is gluing Wendy’s wigs on this tight? She really thought making a “come on down!” joke about a woman’s domestic-abuse-murder was a good choice for her daytime talk show? “Come on down! And see Wendy Williams look like a total asshole for the second time in under a week!
