Constance Wu Made $600 While Undercover Stripping To Prepare For “Hustlers”

While on Kelly Clarkson’s talk show, Constance Wu talked about making Hustlers, which she still hasn’t seen (since she doesn’t like to live in the past) and she revealed that during her research, she actually danced at a strip club and made $600. And why do I have a feeling that most of those tips came from people giving her $10 to buy a clue after her Fresh Off The Boat tantrum.

To get into the vibe as a criminal stripper for Hustlers, Constance said on The Kelly Clarkson Show yesterday that she went into the belly of the beast (via Page Six).

“I went undercover. I gave lap dances to strangers.”

Kelly’s sweet Christian heart was stunned. “You’re lying!”, she said. To which, Constance replied:

“I’m not lying… I made $600 my first night… I did. And it was not funny. I put fake tattoos on my neck, and I changed my hair and put all these hairpieces in… You can’t duplicate it, the first time you walk into a club and say, “Hey, I would like to have a job here,” and then you go work that night.”

Constance even installed a stripper pole in her living room for a few months to practice.

And I’m sure that to prove he’s still the most method method actor who ever was, Joaquin Phoenix will reveal on a talk show that to prepare for his Oscar-winning role in Joker, he became an incel and killed a stranger. So method!
