Jameela Jamil Isn’t Lying About Her Health Woes, So Says Jameela Jamil

Jameela Jamil is usually the one throwing out accusations and dragging people. Jameela has come after the Kardashians, a pregnant Amber Rose, and Cardi B for pushing poop tea on Instagram (which led to IG changing its policies). And she’s shit (a shit that wasn’t produced by poop tea) on Photoshopping. Those are just some of the things that Jameela has spoken out about. But lately, she’s been on the other end of it. Jameela was side-eyed for suddenly coming out as queer after getting criticized for producing and judging a vogueing competition for HBO Max (the timing of which, she agrees is suspect). And now writer Tracie Egan Morrissey has brought out receipts that make it look like the star of The Good Place is starring in a real-life episode of The Lying Place. Jameela has been accused of having Munchausen’s, and she denies it all.

This started when Tracie put up a bunch of Instagram stories that contradicted Jameela’s health issues throughout the years. But not only health issues, Tracie showed tweets where Jameela contradicts herself into a contradictory pretzel by saying she was a model and a model agent, and then saying she got scouted at 15 but her modeling career never happened because she broke her back, and then saying she was a teen model with an eating disorder, and then finally saying she was never a model. The back and forth of Jameela’s “I was a model, I was not a model” tweets are like the conversation my delusional self and my reasonable self has with each other about me graduating from Barbizon.

As for Jameela being accused of lie-telling about her illnesses, Tracie showed screen shots of one interview where Jameela said she had a beast cancer scare, and then a later interview where she claimed to have survived cancer twice.

Jameela has also told stories that make it seem like bees hate her more than Nicolas Cage and Macaulay Culkin’s My Girl character combined. Jameela said that when she was 17 years old, she ended up with broken bones and a busted spine when she was hit by a car after getting chased by a bee. And then she told an extremely dramatic tale about how a swarm of killer bees took over an interview she was doing with Mark Ronson.

Jamil added that it was “every man for himself” as they raced away from the swarm. “It was the most scared I’ve ever been. I didn’t know what it was and then suddenly I was like, ‘Oh my God, it’s killer bees! Those are killer bees!’ I just ran, food flew everywhere and I destroyed the whole set. It was terrifying. We were both there and we just ran for it,” she said. “Neither of us tried to save each other. It was every man for himself. It was like, 500 bees. It was horrible. I would never have left a man down, but we both turned into Usain Bolt then.”

But Mark Ronson’s version is different. He claimed the scene wasn’t OprahBees.GIF. He said that one or two bees slowly buzzed around them and so they casually went inside.

There’s more bee drama. Jameela said on The Tonight Show earlier this year that she injured herself on The Good Place several times. She was chased by another bee and hit by a car (season 1), suffered a concussion from hitting her head while picking up a cookie, and pulled a butt muscle while crouching during a scene.

And when she was on Good Morning America in 2018, she once again let producers know that they better make sure they’ve got good insurance when hiring her by saying that while filming something with British singer Olly Murs, she lost a tooth, suffered a concussion, broke her elbow, and smashed her nose after falling on her face while running around.

Jameela also said in an interview that she has a severe allergy to peanuts:

I was also born with a severe shellfish and peanut allergy so spent more time in hospital as my windpipe used to swell up.

But recently, Jameela posted an Instagram Story saying how much she loves a certain brand of peanut butter-filled treats.

After Tracie’s Instagram Stories went viral, Tracie said that she was incorrect in believing that Jameela has Munchausen’s, and instead thinks she might have Symptom Somatic Disorder.

Jameela, of course, responded to this on Twitter. Jameela says she has Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, a rare disorder which affects connective tissues and is the cause of many of her ills. She called Tracie an “unhinged idiot” before explaining things:

Jameela also did a little Q&A where she answered questions, like about her supposed peanut allergy:

And about continuing to film with Olly Murs even though she had a broken elbow and a concussion:

And about the bees:

And about her car accidents:

And about using a wheelchair and a Zimmer frame (aka a walker):

Jameela ended by saying she feels she’s being targeted because she’s a woman of color, and let everyone know that they can’t take her down (bees not included in “everyone“):

Below are some more screen shots from Tracie’s Instagram Stories. It is a lot. I’m going to need Detective La Toya to come out of detective retirement to take on this case. Or La Toya should just come out and strike glamorous poses to soothe my brain from all of this.
