The Anti-Fur Protestors Have Been Going After Jessica Simpson During Her Book Tour

Many people and companies have stopped wearing and using real fur. THE QUEEN is not wearing fur anymore, and Versace ditched fur. But not Jessica Simpson! Jessica still wears fur (see above: Jessica looking like a 70s Elle Woods in a fox fur-trimmed coat from Saks Potts) and the protestors are letting her have it during the tour to promote her memoir Open Book. But luckily for Jessica, they’re not throwing red paint and flour at her, they’re just throwing their words at her. And she’s responding to them by bringing God into it.

TMZ says that Jessica was on stage at the Aratani Theatre in Los Angeles speaking with Katherine Schwarzenegger about her memoir, which is about the child abuse she’s suffered, her addiction to booze, her marriage to Nick Lachey, and her dad’s sexuality. She also spills shit about John Mayer, but John Mayer wasn’t the one to scream at her at the Aratani Theatre. PETA activists were.

Jessica was also hit with protests at a signing in NYC, and while leaving a restaurant. So when activists stood up at the Aratani Theatre and began chanting to Jessica to stop wearing fur, she thoroughly brushed it off.

Just Jared says that Jessica blessed the protesters and told them she loved their enthusiasm, but maybe try it with someone else. The protestors were then escorted out:

“God bless you guys! It’s beautiful that you stand up for what you believe, but not through hatred,” Jessica said as a group of protesters were ushered away from the stage and out of the venue.

Later on, a woman stood up in the middle of the audience and started shouting, “Please stop wearing animals, please stop wearing fur. There are so many other choices. Please stop wearing fur, Jessica. Animals are electrocuted!”

Jessica and Katherine paused the conversation while the woman was escorted out by security.

“Well, these are the types of moments where you know, when you’re trying to speak about helping other people get through their own problems and their life, and when you talk about god, that is when darkness tries to seep in,” Jessica said after the second protester left the room. “And I know that god is stronger than that and nothing will hold me back from my calling.”

Those fur protestors are just lucky Jessica chose the God-route instead of trying to square up with them like Lil’ Kim. I mean, Jessica could’ve brought out Daisy Duke and hit them with her impeccable acting and kicks:
