Billy Porter Hits Back At Those Who Are Mad He Wore His Oscar Gown On “Sesame Street”

It’s time for another round of: “Contempt For Homosexuals Disguised As Concern For Children”! Yay! Billy Porter shot an upcoming guest appearance on Sesame Street, and in it, he wears the HSOTM gown he wore to last year’s Oscars. And Billy is so gracious that he shared a fraction of his fabulosity with the children. Well, that choice was roasted by a Conservative senator and other homophobes who are worried about children being exposed to men in dresses on a show where a grouch lives in a garbage can, a blue furry creature survives on a diet of cookies, and a vampire teaches simple mathematics. The horror!

Page Six says that it was announced that Billy will appear on the show and will wear THEE gown of gowns:

One Arkansas senator, Jason Rapert, got mad about the gays infiltrating Sesame Street with their radical drag agenda. He wrote on Facebook (via LifeSite):

“Do you approve of your taxpayer dollars being used to promote the radical LGBTQ agenda?”

There is also a petition circulating to have PBS pull the episode because they are accusing the program of trying to “sexualize children using drag queens.”

Billy spoke to Page Six about it and told the homophobes to turn off the TV:

“If you don’t like it, don’t watch it.”

He also found it curious that people jumped from a “man in a dress” to “perverted demon sex.”

“Like, what about me singing with a penguin [on the show] has anything to do with what I’m doing in my bedroom? …The really interesting thing for me is that that’s what it’s all about when it comes to LGBTQ people–the first thing everyone wants to talk about is how we having sex. …Stay out of my bedroom and you will be fine–that is none of your business.”

I know, right? If a man in a dress offends them, imagine how they’ll feel once they hear about Bert and Ernie’s anal beads.
