As her life crawls inexorably towards the courtroom in October (and probably a significant prison sentence), Lori Loughlin must look wistfully at the already-out-of-the-clink-and-at-hot-yoga Felicity Huffman and think, “OH MY COMET, WHY DID AUNT BECKY NOT PLEAD GUILTY?!?!” It’s what everyone’s thinking, Lor. Us Weekly says that, contrary to initial reports, Lori and husband Mossimo Giannulli put their Bel Air mansion on the market because a team of lawyers giving you really bad advice is super-expensive.
This week, Aunt Becky and Mossimo put up a for sale sign on the Bel Air mansion they bought in 2015 for $14 million. They’re listing it for $28,650,000. And a source says it’s because they’re “strapped for cash.”
A source tells Us Weekly exclusively that Loughlin and Giannulli’s “legal bills are mounting” and they “need the money to pay” for their representation. On Thursday, January 30, it was announced that the couple are expected to stand trial in October 2020.
“Lori is stressed and worried about money being tight at the moment due to all their expenses with lawyers,” another insider tells Us.
Having to bankroll those two terribly entitled-seeming daughters can’t be cheap, either now that THEIR income streams have probably dried up. Speaking of Isabella, 21, and disgraced influencer Olivia Jade, 20, there’s a possibility they’ll be called to testify in their parents’ trial. After all, this shitstorm started back when Lori and Mossimo allegedly paid $500,000 to have them admitted to USC, complete with allegedly doctored rowing pics. And that despite some wishy-washyness about continuing education and general ingratitude!
A source revealed to Us on January 21 that Bella and Olivia could be called to testify in their parents’ upcoming trial if they don’t change their pleas to guilty.
“She was told there wasn’t [anything to do] unless there was a change from not guilty to guilty,” the source explained at the time. “Accepting a plea bargain would be the only solution.”
And the only acting Aunt Becky can do lately is practicing tears for mock trials and those don’t pay.
“People around them were even shocked about the amount of money that Lori and Mossimo allegedly paid to get their daughters into school,” a separate source tells Us. “They are strapped for cash right now [because] she can’t take on work at the moment.”
The only way Aunt Becky can turn this shit around is if she somehow manages to secretly bankroll Olivia Jade’s fast-track into law school so she can become an avenging attorney determined to clear her parents’ names! That’s what got them into trouble in the first place, true, but it almost worked the first time. Either that or get a jump-start on her career as a future Real Housewife.
