Get Those Leotards Ready: Rose Byrne Will Star In A 1980s Aerobics Show For AppleTV+

The Hollywood Reporter says that a new show is on the horizon at Apple TV+ and it will be all about the mechanics of 80s camel toes. A show called Physical about a housewife-turned-aerobics instructor is coming. Get those camel-toe prosthetics ready! And the creators better be on their Spandex-slathered knees begging the Gods for Richard Simmons to come out of retirement to grace their show with a cameo.

I guess with GLOW being in its final season at Netflix, Apple TV+ knows that a new show about women in leotards is needed to fill the void. Physical is the new dramedy from one of the minds of Desperate Housewives, Annie Weisman. Anne will write the show and be its showrunner. Rose Byrne will star:

“A Southern California woman struggling in her life as a quietly tortured housewife who finds an unconventional path to power through the world of aerobics.”

Rose will next be seen this April as Gloria Steinem in Hulu’s Mrs. America, which stars Cate Blanchett as Phyllis Schlafly.

Apple TV+ has a bunch of new shit coming up including two dozen more scripted series. They’re really trying to make up for the fact that they have no archive of old shows and movies. Which is also why they’ve renewed every scripted show they’ve debuted, except for the limited-series Truth Be Told. So Rose’s show will probably get a second season, unless AppleTV+ collapses from throwing mountains of money at the likes of SAG award winner Jennifer Aniston.

Honestly, I’m into this aerobics show. I hope it’s a 1980s Desperate Housewives mixed with aerobics. I want DRAMA, Spandex, and thrusts! And I can’t wait for the entire episode devoted to 80s face workout wonder queen Greer Childers:
