Princesses Beatrice And Eugenie Could Pick Up The Royal Slack Left By Prince Harry And Meghan Markle

Hello! Magazine says that now that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have quit their “jobs” as full-time royals and will mostly live in Canada, someone has to take over their roles of waving and smiling at the peasants at the opening of a park, or something. One royal biographer believes that Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, the daughters of The Original Fergie and Prince Andrew, will be moved up from B royals to A royals and put their waving hands to good use.

Robert Lacey, a royal biographer who works on The Crown, told Hello! that he thinks that if Bea and Eugenie want to replace Meghan and Harry on the royal circuit, they will.

“It’s quite clear that one of the consequences is that Beatrice and Eugenie will now be brought forward–if they’re willing to be brought forward. If two go out, two have got to come in, and those two have got to be Beatrice and Eugenie. I’m sure they will step forward and be greatly welcomed. It’s what the family needs as it’s another 15 years before Prince George’s generation steps up. It’s ironic that Harry mentioned his cousins as models of how he wants to be.”

This is good news for Duchess Kate, because she had serious competition from Meghan in the sport of causing a coat or dress to sell out seconds after wearing it to an event. Something tells me (see: those outifts above) that she won’t have much competition from Bea and Eugenie in that department. The title will be hers again!

Also, a YouGov poll claims that Princess Bea and Princess Eugenie are the 13th and 14th most popular British royals. Harry and Meghan are 4th and 8th on that list. So if they do replace Harry and Meghan at events, they should expect that the only people who will come to see them will be feds looking to talk to their dad.
