Billie Eilish Won Pretty Much Everything At The Grammys Last Night

January 27, 2020 / Posted by:

The Grammys happened last night and just as negotiators suspected, the note made from cut up magazine clippings reading: “Give Cats Album of the Year or I blow the bomb!” was just a copycat-hoax. Phewf! 18-year-old Billie Eilish really took that possibly rigged shit to town, sweeping all the major categories. Catch her licking poles to taste blood in celebration. But most blessed of all is Camilla Cabello and Shawn Mendes didn’t have to get down to their skivvies to shamelessly get three seconds of attention. Amen!

Entertainment Weekly says that Billie Eilish took home: Best New Artist, Song of the Year, Record of the Year, and Album of the Year. She beat out the likes of Lizzo, who was the nominations queen and won three awards herself for Best Pop Solo Performance, Best Traditional R&B Performance, and Best Urban Contemporary Album. B

Nipsey Hussle was honored with posthumous awards for Best Rap Performance and Best Rap/Sung Performance. Here’s a video of DJ Khaled accepting an award on Nipsey’s behalf with Nipsey’s wife and daughter standing behind him saying nothing because it’s all about DJ Khaled God.

Lil Nas X and Billy Ray Cyrus won Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for Old Town Road and also Best Music Video. So Billy got a Maserati and won two Grammys this year all for being featured in a song after-the-fact? That’s a fruitful two days of work… Tyler, The Creator took home Best Rap Album for Igor and Jaden Smith kept up his queer-baiting with Tyler by tweeting about it:

Willie Nelson took home Best Country Solo Performance for Ride Me Back Home which I’m mentioning because that is the most sexual title I’ve read today. And Sara Bareilles won Best American Roots Performance for Saint Honesty, which I’m mentioning because I’m a fan of hers, so there.

Michelle Obama won for Best Spoken Word Album for reading her book Becoming out loud in a room. Dave Chappelle beat Jim Gaffigan, Ellen DeGeneres, Aziz Ansari and Trevor Noah for Best Comedy Album. And Hadestown won Best Musical Theater Album.

Somehow Cats did not win Best Compilation Soundtrack for Visual Media, nor was it nominated. A Star Is Born won, which is ridiculous. I’ve seen both, and Cats is far more emotionally-jarring. And Lady Gaga also won a Grammy for Best Song Written for Visual Media for I’ll Never Love Again (Film Version).

Finally, Beyoncé won Best Music Film for Homecoming. The Grammys had to give Beyonce a Grammy or the Beyhive would’ve come for themAnd they wouldn’t do the whole extortion thing. They’d just jump straight to the death threats.
