Commes des Garçons Put Their Models In Cornrow Wigs, And It Went Over Well….

On Friday, the Japanese fashion label Commes des Garçons, decided to appropriate more than the French and went ahead and put their models in wigs so bad you’d think it was a Tyler Perry original production. What’s worse is that they wore shitty dried pasta cornrows and many of the models wearing those wigs were white. Their faces say it all.

Children Of The Corn took on a new meaning at the Commes des Garçons Fall 2020 menswear show in Paris for Paris Fashion Week. Their show (which let me be honest, the clothes were ugly in my opinion–like a fabric factory exploded and was sewn back together in the dark by hand) featured some interesting hairstyles. By interesting I mean…a mess. Models walked the catwalk in cornrow-style lace fronts. Twitter lit up:

Look at those fucking depressed white boys.

This was obviously a great look for the brand who the New York Post says was also accused of not using black models back in 2018. While they had no comment for The Post, the hairstylist who came up with this shit-brained idea took to Instagram to defend himself and apologize.

Julien d’Ys explained that the look was inspired by an Egyptian prince and meant no offense, writing:

A good old-fashioned “I’m Sorry, But.”

Look, I don’t know how Julien got into Tyler Perry’s terrible wig collection to find these, but he needs to be tried in a court of law. For breaking and entering and also aggravated assault, because that’s what these wigs are: an assault. They gave them the Shemar Moore-special and it is not okay.
