And the Oscar goes to…Paris Hilton! Defrocked celebutante high priestess and expert lasagna maker Paris Hilton is all about simple outfits and library books and helping the needy but we never knew this because she’s been playing the character of a spoiled, entitled, vapid party tramp heiress for almost 40 years. It was just a big acting job! At least that’s what she’s claiming in the upcoming documentary This Is Paris, according to Deadline. Meryl Streep just hung up all of her accents because Paris is obviously the GOAT when it comes to acting.
Paris talked about her documentary at the winter TCA press tour and described This Is Paris as an “emotional” and “raw” experience for her. So, basically like 1/2 of her sex tape.
“I’ve never done anything like this in my life,” she said. “In this film, I discuss things I’ve never discussed before. I hope that people are going to see who I truly am.”
Back in the 2000s, Paris was the queen of the trash heap and her antics were all over the blogs and the Interwebz. Until her former assistant/bestie Kim Kardashian released her own…I mean, Kim’s own sex tape was tragically made available without her consent in any way and the rest is trashy attention whore history. Suddenly, it was Paris who?
Paris says this documentary follows her in her “real life,” and everything before this was just performance art or some bullshit. The movie must depict her working in a homeless shelter while she pursues a degree in artificial intelligence engineering.
“It follows me in my real life, everything I’ve done before was me playing a character. I was talking about things that are very hard to talk about. It was an amazing experience but it was very scary. I was freaking out,” she added.
Paris says she was always in on the joke, for example, The Simple Life portraying her and Nicole Richie as bitchy snob heiresses mocking the lessers.
Despite Hilton’s admission that the producers of Fox and E! reality series The Simple Life – it was produced by Bunim/Murray – would engineer that series to show Hilton and Nicole Richie as fish out water, she said it wasn’t a mistake. “I was in on the joke,” she said. “Sometimes it is annoying people assuming I am the blonde airhead that I played on the show, but I like proving people wrong.”
This Is Paris will debut on YouTube in May. After that, expect Paris to finally live her truth as a crusader for injustice while she wears a lot of flats.
