Boston is a city full of smarties. We’ve got all the smart schools, and smart hospitals and someone’s obviously got some brains in Boston’s sports industry because we do pretty well there (well, until recently). It makes sense that one of the more extra and innovative marriage proposals on record took place at Boston’s Coolidge Corner Theatre because my city is full of brains and people that like attention. Ok, technically, it’s Brookline but same thing.
Us Weekly and every one of your friends’ social media posts yesterday reported on filmmaker Lee Loechler’s marriage proposal to his now-fiancee Sthuthi David. He took her to see Disney’s Sleeping Beauty, but put himself and his girl IN THE MOVIE, and then had his animated self toss the ring to his real-life self so he could pop the question. As I said then, and I will say now – DUDE IS SLICK. Just watch.

It’s not every day you get to propose to your High School sweetheart. For the past six months I’ve been working with @kaylacoombs to animate @stutzd4 and myself into her favorite movie, Sleeping Beauty. The only thing better than seeing the smartest person I know completely dumbfounded was knowing we’d get to live happily ever after together. ❤️ Enjoy!
Imagine if she had said no? That would have made it even more epic and global. This is super-sweet and even nicer when you realize that someone was finally able to distract us from the glaring issues of consent involved with the Prince rolling up on Aurora when she was in a coma. Look, it’s 2020, someone was going to point it out eventually!
