Prince Harry And Duchess Meghan Might Get Their Security Detail Paid For By Canadian Taxpayers

Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan continue to ruin Queen Elizabeth’s afternoon tea. We know by now that Harry and Meghan have announced that they’re no longer senior royals, that they want to have jobs and make their own money, and that they’re going to divide their time between Frogmore Cottage in the UK and somewhere in either Canada or the United States.

Now we know that there’s a very good chance all their moving boxes will be sent to somewhere in Canada. And we also know that despite claiming they want to start paying for stuff all on their own, some of their bills might end up getting paid by Canada, thanks to Harry and Meghan’s royal family connection. Oh, and speaking of the royal family? One source claims Harry’s family was literally the only reason for why the Sussexes quit.

While no official moving announcement has been made, Canada is where Meghan and Archie are right now. Harry and Meghan returned to the UK after spending six weeks in British Columbia, and originally it looked like they were back to work. Now we’re learning that they might have only swung back to the UK to pick up some clean clothes and a laptop to type out their resumes. E! News says that Meghan is back in Canada, while Harry remains in the UK to deal with the fallout from their surprise announcement. And Archie was chilling out back in Canada with his nanny and the wife of Canada’s Billy Bush.

It appears Meghan and Harry made the decision to leave Archie in Canada with friend Jessica Mulroney and a nanny as they attended to business, multiple outlets report…At the moment, multiple outlets report Prince Harry will be reuniting with his wife and son in Canada in the coming days, but, as some royal reporters have pointed out, he has another engagement scheduled in England for next Thursday.

Meghan was reportedly away from 8-month-old Archie for three days.

It kind of sounds like Meghan and Harry want to stay in Canada, although they could just be using Canada as a base while they house-hunt for something down south. And if the security experts that Page Six spoke to are reliable sources, then everyone up in Canada should be forwarding as many active Zillow listings in the Los Angeles area to Harry and Meghan. Because it’s going to cost Canada a lot of colorful dollars.

One security professional said that Canada will be obligated to cover the cost of a security detail to the family, due to Harry’s status as a Prince and Duke. Canada is a commonwealth country, which means we still pledge allegiance to The Queen and all her spawn. An ex-Mountie added that he doesn’t believe Harry can technically turn down Canada’s offer of security, due to the country’s ties to the monarchy. And it wouldn’t be as simple as installing a Nest cam outside their front door. Page Six says their security team could cost “millions” per year.

The level of security would be defined by threat assessment, said another expert. Among those concerns, would be a worry about the kidnapping of 8-month-old son Archie, calling the threat a “major situation, especially when it comes to terrorists.”

He added: “Kidnap a kid, hold them for ransom, what are the parents going to do?”

It was reported during their Canadian holiday back in December that the couple were denied dinner reservations at a seafood restaurant, because the owner didn’t want the dining room filled with security guards. However, Harry and Meghan swore in their recent website Q&A that they wanted to start paying for things entirely on their own, which might include the millions of dollars they’d need to keep safe and kidnapper-free.

And right now, there’s two security teams watching the Sussexes, because Meghan flew back to their temporary “home.” Harry probably wishes he could have stowed away on Meghan’s carry on and escaped back to Canada with her, because it sounds like it’s pretty rough for Harry right now. The Queen reportedly called an emergency meeting with Harry, as well as Prince Charles and Prince William, to discuss “workable solutions” for his exit. I hope they conducted that meeting in a sound-proof, padded room, because I predict a 98% chance of high-pitched yelling and jewel-throwing. People magazine says Harry and Meghan’s journalist friend Tom Bradbury chimed in on the situation. And he believes Harry and Meghan left the family business because they hate that their family is all up in their business.

“[The reason] is just really bad personal splits- that’s the honest truth. There’ve been a lot of fallouts; a lot of harsh things were said around the time of the wedding. And it’s gone a bit too far. And certainly the rest of the family find Harry and Meghan very difficult and, from Harry and Meghan’s point of view, they’re just being driven out as they see it. And it’s sad.”

The things that were allegedly said around the wedding might be when Prince Philip allegedly told Harry that Meghan is the type of girl you date, not marry. There might have been words when Meghan allegedly made Duchess Kate cry over Princess Charlotte’s bridesmaid dress. And who even knows how snippy that alleged tiara conversation got. Tom also says that he suspects things might get worse before they get better, because everyone hates each other so much, and he describes the situation is extremely “toxic” between everyone. That’s the understatement of the year. If what we know about Harry’s relationship with his family is true, Buckingham Palace should have a skull-and-crossbones sign posted at the front gates, along with the number for poison control.
