Sources Say Lori Loughlin And Mossimo’s New Defense Strategy Involves Technicalities And A Check Sent Directly To USC

Lori Loughlin and Mossimo Giannuli have been pleading not guilty up and down when it comes to their charges of money laundering and bribery in the College Admissions Scandal. They’ve come up with some pretty weird defenses like, the rowing pics which were falsified never went to USC, they didn’t know paying schools extra to let in your kid was illegal, and they thought the money they paid was going to help underprivileged children. Well, they found another defense. They wrote a check to USC directly and thus it cannot be a bribe. Also, those payments to school officials that look like bribes? Came after the girls admission so… no bribe!

TMZ has a source who is telling them Lori and Mossimo’s game plan for trial. The source says they have no plan to bargain or plea, so that prison consultant was just for show I guess, as they have a solid defense strategy. Sources also say that one key witness could be former Athletic Director, Pat Haden. The defense plans on pointing out that USC, a private university, had a serious motif of fundraising. Thus Lori and Mossimo weren’t bribing. It was “fundraising”. Here’s a video from 2011 where Pat talks about getting money at USC:

Sources also say that the core of Lori’s defense is that she and Mossimo didn’t bribe former Senior Associate Athletic Director Donna Heinel as the U.S. Attorney argues they did. You wanna know why? A $50,000 check from Mossimo to Donna was payable to USC, not her. And according to them, that money was sent at the direction of Rick Singer, the ring-leader who turned on them.

They also gave Rick a $200,000 check for “charities“. Which is also not a bribe, so they argue. AND while the government is saying that Rick paid Donna $20,000 a month–the defense says that was paid after Lori and Mossimo’s daughters, Olivia Jade and Isabella Giannulli, were accepted. AND what Rick does with his money is not their business and “he did on his own”.

Now USC may actually want to help Lori and Mossimo wrap this shit up. Apparently universities caught up in the scandal hired outside law firms to audit their admission programs and find corruption. TMZ says that some universities have completed their audits and made the results public but a rep for USC says the investigation is ongoing. So these two bringing up how USC was a payee is probably not going to help USC look NOT corrupt.

So there you go: rich people fuck around, get caught, and will likely suffer no consequences in an effort to ensure no other rich people suffer consequences. And the world turns on… How is it that Felicity Huffman is going to probably end up with a stiffer sentence than Lori? Truly there is no justice in the world. Looks like we’ll never get the “Prison Chic Makeup Tutorial featuring My Mom!” video from Olivia Jade’s YouTube channel. Sigh…
