Subway Sally!

When the name “Subway Sally” made its way onto my Twitter timeline a few times, I was hoping it would be about a video of Sally Struthers singing out show tunes in the subway to raise money for children in need. But this video is just as good and stars Subway Sally, a stray dog who proves that sometimes begging works! Don’t tell my dog.

In a TikTok from user @kxnuko, that made the rounds on Twitter, a Subway employee introduces the world to Subway Sally. For the past year, Subway Sally patiently sits at the door of a Subway in New Mexico every night waiting for the employees to give her a dog’s feast of meats. The video has gone viral, so of course many want to adopt Subway Sally. But the question is, does Sally Subway want to be adopted? Sure, she’ll have a warm place to sleep every night, but she’ll have to trade in a gourmet meal fit for a canine queen for some dry ass kibble.

If you run on potent cynicism like I do, you’re probably looking at Subway Sally’s shiny, clean coat and wondering if she’s grifting their asses by already having a home and throwing In Arms Of An Angel eyes at the Subway employees so they will give her some deliciousness. Who knew that Princess Reyes taught grifting for dogs on Masterclass? But whatever, if Subway Sally isn’t grifting, I say get that goodness. And if she is grifting, I say that goodness.
