Busy Philipps had some words to say about her show being canceled. Busy got herself onto Instagram to reflect on the year and posted a bunch of #AlmostGrams, which are Instagram posts that almost happened in 2019. Well, a New Year means go for it, right? So she blew up on E! for cancelling her show and told her followers how she handled it rather badly at the time. So badly that I doubt E! will keep her busy tonight, tomorrow, or ever by giving her another job.
Busy Philipps’ talk show, Busy Tonight, lasted one season and she thinks that’s bullshit. In a long Instagram post that includes pics, texts and letters, Busy describes what happened to her on the day she found out that her show was canceled. Apparently, the head of E! was texting her about promo stuff as the last message she received from him, so she was surprised when her manager called to tell her she wasn’t being picked up. Busy reacted by drinking tequila and crying and then her daughter wrote a scathing letter to E! telling them they shouldn’t have canceled her mom and that when the show became popular it would end up somewhere else. Look, I know she’s a child but she clearly doesn’t understand the concept of network television, because if it was popular it wouldn’t have been canned in the first place. She also got a foot tattoo.
To be fair, Busy Tonight actually was canceled before it’s time. It gave us some iconic moments. Patti LaBelle slapping Mariah Carey. John Stamosjerking it to John Stamos while knowing that other people jerk it to John Stamos in the same room. Don’t tell me that not that’s some quality programming.
