Donald Trump Was Mad That A Canadian Broadcaster Edited Him Out Of “Home Alone 2”
1992’s Home Alone 2: Lost In New York is the sequel to 1990’s Home Alone, but it’s really a shitty carbon copy. Although, there are some original bits in there. Like Marv getting electrocuted so much he turns into a skeleton. Or any time Tim Curry shows up on screen. The filthy pigeon lady is alright too. But there’s also characters who don’t really need to be there. Donald Trump playing Donald Trump is probably the most obvious example. He’s less important than Kevin’s cheese pizza.
So when it came time for the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation’s (or CBC) annual broadcast of Home Alone 2, they decided to cut some time and delete Trump’s scene. Of course, some Trump supporters took this as a deliberate act of censorship. And that would include the biggest Trump supporter of them all, Donald Trump.
When Kevin McCallister arrives at New York City’s Plaza hotel (thanks for the directions, Celebrity Ding Dang Dong), he needs to find the lobby. So he asks the nearest adult for help. Sadly, the closest he can get is an adult-sized child in a cheap red tie. Trump bought The Plaza in 1988 and subsequently ran it into the ground, financially speaking. He lost it in 1995 to Citibank. In 1992, he made some money by letting 20th Century Fox film the sequel inside his hotel. He also got a little cameo as himself:
Home Alone 2 is 120 minutes long. The CBC broadcasts movies in a two-hour window, but they’ve got to make room for commercials, so they edit some stuff out in order to make it all fit. One viewer noticed that the CBC had taken out some scenes during a recent broadcast. But specifically – they didn’t like that Donald’s cameo was deleted.
#DefundCBC It's not about whether you like Trump, which I don't. For the CBC to edit an iconic movie to make a petty political point not only show bias, it shows over-the-top stupid and dangerous bias.

The CBC responded with a statement and simply explained that Donald’s scene wasn’t the only one cut for time.
“As is often the case with feature films adapted for television, Home Alone 2 was edited for time. The scene with Donald Trump was one of several that were cut from the movie as none of them were integral to the plot. These edits were done in 2014 when we first acquired the film and before Mr. Trump was elected President.”
Yesterday, Donald tweeted a joke about the CBC removing the real star of the movie, while also taking a dig at his personal Regina George, Justin Trudeau.
The movie will never be the same! (just kidding) https://t.co/FogquK1ei7

I guess Justin T doesn’t much like my making him pay up on NATO or Trade! https://t.co/sndS7YvIGR

Donald Trump Jr. was also LIVID that the CBC got rid of his daddy.

What Donald Trump Jr. doesn’t realize is that CBC actually did him a favor. Because if they had left in Trump’s cameo, then there’s a chance this conversation might have happened inside Canadian homes after the broadcast.
Viewer 1: My favorite character was the smug asshole with the bad hair at the hotel.
Viewer 2: Wait, are you talking about Rob Schneider or Donald Trump?
