Celine Dion’s chicken shoes!

Celine Dion has followed up her modest and demure championship ring with some gorgeous chicken shoes! Add “recycling icon” to Celine Dion’s long list of titles, because after she finishes sacrificing chickens to keep her voice stunningly powerful, she straps them to her feet and makes them shoes.

Actually, they’re not real chickens, and I know you’re shocked to hear that as being someone who knows what actual chickens look like. But it looks like those construction paper turkeys you made in elementary school for Thanksgiving broke out of the cardboard boxed marked “memories” your parents keep in the garage, ran away from the house, found a winning lottery ticket on the sidewalk, and used the money to get a full blown glamorous makeover. And now they’re living on Celine Dion’s feets!

Okay, but can you do shots out of those chickens?

Actually, Celine Dion isn’t serving cluck cluck cluck glamour on her feet. Because those aren’t chickens. They’re not turkeys, either. As Page Six points out, they’re phoenixes rising from the ashes and were created by Toronto-based designer Caitlin Doherty who was commissioned to make them by Scotiabank Arena to promote Celine’s new album and tour (Celine played Scotiabank).

Titled “Courage” (just like Dion’s latest studio album), the wearable art piece is intended as “a tribute to Céline Dion and an artistic expression of her passion for fashion and a metaphor that represents her journey,” according to an accompanying placard. “The symbolism … resembles themes both Céline Dion and a Phoenix have in common, transformation and rebirth.”

Here’s a look at Celine’s phoenix heels in all their craft project on roids glory!

Those “Heat Miser if Heat Miser was a bird” shoes can now retire and replace Mona Lisa at the Louvre. They are an international treasure now that they’ve graced the feet of Celine Dion. And I’m sure the wail of pain that Celine let out after those shoes gave her paper cuts sounded luminous
