Hilarie Burton Didn’t Work With Hallmark After They Refused Her Diversity Requests

Peyton Sawyer is a lesbian iconne who has been fighting for gayelle rights since the early 2000s. So of course the woman who played her, Hilarie Burton Morgan, piled onto Hallmark for their decision to stop airing a lesbian commercial after pressure from a conservative group (they later reversed that decision after getting shit left and right). She let us know that she and Hallmark parted ways because she was very specific about including ethnicities and gays in a movie and they were very much interested in not doing those things.

Entertainment Tonight says that Hilarie Burton is calling out Hallmark, and her husband, Zaddy Jeffrey Dean Morgan tagged in as well. Hilarie revealed on Twitter that she was cast in a Hallmark movie, and made specific requests (like the inclusion of an LGBTQ character and an interracial couple) for the movie. Hilarie also shouted out Hallmark’s competition Lifetime for loving the gays and people of color:

Jeffrey hopped onto the thread to pile on because the couple that roasts on socials together stays together… and also maybe weird sexual Christmas role-play has a part in it?

Hil replied:

Okay, people are out here worried about the gays tainting society, but the straights are having Christmas Kink sex-talk in front of my Godly-eyes??! Why is an elf with Santa? He’s cheating on Mrs. Clause with an elf!?! The heterosexuals are sinful!
