Vanna White’s First Time Hosting “Wheel Of Fortune” Garnered Some Bad Reviews

Imagine missing Pat Sajak so much that you feel compelled to #taketotwitter to complain about what a shitty job Vanna White is doing as his temporary replacement. Vanna, of all people, has done nothing over the past 37 years but turn turning letters into a nightly display of class and grace the likes of which have never before been seen on network television. It’s a travesty, a crying shame, a crime against all that we hold dear as a nation, and an injustice of the highest order. According to The Blast, Vanna’s first time behind the titular Wheel of Fortune as host, was met with criticism online. As previously announced, Vanna is filling in to Pat who was recovering from emergency surgery for a block_d int_stin_. Pro tip: Buy a vowel. Unless you’re Pat Sajak, in which case, buy a bowel (It’s OK folks, he’s fine. Pat has already recovered, Vanna’s first episode as host was previously taped).

Really, he’s fine.

Here’s Vanna spinning that wheel for the first time. They had Minnie Mouse trying, and failing, to replace Vanna on letter turning. Maybe if she’d gone for a sensible stiletto like Vanna always does, instead of those godawful golden Crocs, she would have been able to march her happy ass to the other side of the board to turn those letters instead of just pointing at them.

According to The Blast:

Vanna White made her first appearance as “Wheel of Fortune” host while stepping into Pat Sajak’s role following his health scare and fans did not like it. The episode went down on Monday night with several show watchers criticizing the television veteran with many questioning whether she was even ready to fill Pat Sajak’s shoes while he’s taking some time off to rest and take care of his health. Vanna White, who’s been apart of the “Wheel of Fortune” family for 37 years now, stated that she was “petrified” about her host debut and unfortunately, it did not go as smooth as expected.

During the episode, fans immediately went on social media describing the strange and what some labeled “awkward” 60 minutes episode was as they watched her step in as the “Wheel of Fortune” host. “Anyone saying Vanna is doing a great job isnt being honest with themselves. #WheelOfFortune,” one fan tweeted. “Watching Vanna host Wheel of Fortune is cool but weird. Very weird. She’s not bad, but she doesn’t do the back and forth banter with the contestants, so it feels a tad less personal. But hey, she’s new at this,” added another. “Why is Vanna White so awkward? It’s like a car crash. Don’t know if I should look away or keep watching,” wrote a third.

Here’s a sampling of some other people who should be ashamed of themselves for disparaging The Hardest Working Woman In Show Business Whose Job It Is To Turn Letters On A Game Show.

Rude. Not even close. See yourself out, John.

I’d like to buy an I … don’t think so, Amy! Next.

A test run? How about 37 years in the trenches, silently teaching America how to spell without judgement (I’m looking at you, Pat!). Of course, not everyone thought Vanna did a bad job. Many people were appropriately supportive and appreciative. But I think it’s safe to say, Minnie Mouse is definitely on notice!
