Bill Cosby’s Appeal Was Denied By The Superior Court

Bill Cosby is currently serving a 3-10 year prison sentence for sexual assault. Bill had appealed the ruling, claiming this was some kind of conspiratorial political hit. But now we know how that appeal went for Cosby: Not well. Cosby was denied and will have to serve his sentence as was justly handed to him by a jury of his peers.

Bill Cosby was accused of sexual assault and drugging by dozens of different women, but he finally became a convicted rapist because of the Andrea Constand case. He challenged that conviction, and the Superior Court got back to him. They’re going to pass.

AP News says that the Superior Court has upheld the right of the prosecutors in Cosby’s case to call other accusers to the stand. Bill Cosby’s team had argued this was not fair–as they had not done so in the first trial which ended with the jury unable to make a decision. Pennsylvania law allows testimony that shows a “signature” pattern of behavior, and Cosby allegedly loved those quaaludes so… Andrea reacted to the decision, telling AP:

“This decision is a reminder that no one is above the law.”

Cosby’s lawyers had argued that it wasn’t right that his own words from a civil suit deposition were allowed to be used in the criminal case. They also said that a different prosecutor had a “binding promise” with Cosby that he would “never be charged” if he testified freely at a deposition for a related lawsuit of Andrea’s.

“That other guy said I can never get in trouble for this, and I was told my truthful statements elsewhere could not harm me here specifically.”

82-year-old Bill Cosby has previously said that he expects to serve his full sentence because he plans of have “no remorse” at his probation hearing and compared himself to actual civil rights icons, and his lawyers gave a statement on the Superior Court ruling which is really just as smug. They also said that they will take it to the State Supreme Court!

“We’re not shocked because it shows the world that this isn’t about justice, but this is a political scheme to destroy America’s Dad, however they will not stop us and we will prevail in the State Supreme Court. Mr. Cosby remains hopeful and he stands behind his innocence.”

You know who did not stand behind his innocence? His insurance company who had to pay out Janice Dickinson because Cosby said she lied about him assaulting her. And please, can we stop with the “America’s Dad” bullshit. No, he isn’t. This is 2019. America’s Dad is Judge Ruth Bader Ginsburg, who just so happens to be on the Supreme Court of the United States, so Cosby better hope his case doesn’t end up there.
