Harvey Weinstein Has Back Pain And Prosecutors Say He Violated The Conditions Of His Release

The human piece of refuse known as Harvey Weinstein has a bad back. It must be from carrying the weight of the multitudes of accusations of rape and sexual harassment that women all over the entertainment industry have made against him in the last couple of years. Harvey’s pain was in evidence yesterday as he attended an NYC court hearing in which the prosecutors in one of his rape cases accused him of violating the conditions of his bail. They asked a judge to up his bond from $1 million to $5 million.

Page Six reports that a pained-looking Weinstein was helped into Manhattan Supreme Court by his defense team for the ADA to accuse him of somehow rendering himself untrackable 56 times despite the two pieces of tech – a bracelet and a signaling device – that are supposed to keep an eye on him while he’s out on bail. To prevent Weinstein from pulling a Polanski and suddenly discover a new chiropractor in a country with lax extradition laws, the ADA tried to convince the judge that Harvey’s a huge flight risk.

“The bottom line, judge, is this man could fly out on a private jet which he does and go to another country,” she said, asking for the increase to either $5 million cash, $10 million insurance company bond or $50 million security bond. She said he’s sold $60 million in property in the last two years, flies private and is a serious flight risk.

Harvey’s defense attorney says that Weinstein doesn’t have the money that the DA’s office claims he does and that he’s not about to jump bail and eventually win an award at the Venice Film Festival. Also, blame the cell towers.

Defense lawyer Donna Rotunno insisted that he’s never willfully violated the bail terms, and that there aren’t enough cell towers near his home in Bedford to maintain the device’s connection.

She also said Weinstein has two ex-wives and a company that went bankrupt. “He doesn’t have anywhere near the financial windfall she says he has,” she told the court.

She did admit that Harvey “forgot” his signaling device during a trip to Manhattan on Oct. 16. He’s scheduled to go on trial on January 16 and faces up to life in prison on five counts of predatory sexual assault, criminal sex act and rape involving allegations from three women. The judge ordered everyone to return to court this Wednesday where he’ll rule on the matter.

As for his back pain, TMZ reports that he’s in “A LOT” of pain (does anyone else hear mournful violin music?) and that he’s seeing a doctor for a problem that’s only getting worse. So’s his acting.
