Emma Stone Is Engaged To Her “Saturday Night Live” Writer Boyfriend Dave McCary

December 5, 2019 / Posted by:

Only a few months after Justin Theroux and Jennifer Aniston broke up in February 2018, there were rumors that he was secretly hooking up with Emma Stone. It was all very clandestine, what with the sneaking around in France and secret dinners and everything. So for the conspiracy theorists out there who still believe there’s something shady going on with Justin and Emma, here’s your headline: Emma Stone fakes engagement with random guy to mislead you from THE TRUTH. For the rest of us, here’s everything you need to know about Emma Stone’s engagement to SNL writer Dave McCary.

31-year-old Emma started dating 34-year-old Dave in the fall of 2017, a little less than a year after she hosted Saturday Night Live for the third time in December 2016. People magazine says their first meeting was when he directed her in the sketch, Wells for Boys. That’s a real story for the grandkids. “You see, I met your granny while making a fake commercial about toys for melancholy children.

About seven months after Emma and Dave started dating, the rumors that Emma were with Justin Theroux appeared. There was no news that Emma and Dave had called it quits, or were on a break. But lots of people seemed to think she had moved on to Justin. However, for as many people as there were saying that Emma and Justin were a thing, there were just as many saying that the Maniac co-stars were “just friends.” Emma and Dave were seen together at Jennifer Lawrence’s wedding to Cooke Maroney back in October, which led people to believe they were a thing again.

And now we know they’re really a thing. Yesterday, Dave let everyone know that he and Emma are getting married by posting the following picture to his Instagram account (Emma doesn’t do social media).

Dave, Dave, Dave, you’ve got a lot to learn about being a celebrity husband. Like the fact that the ring should always be in the absolutely highest definition possible! People want to zoom in on that rock and estimate how many carats of diamond we’re dealing with. And they can’t do that when it’s all blurry, like a murder witness that asked for the hidden identity treatment on Dateline NBC.

This will be the first wedding for both. And it’s actually the second engagement this year between a brunette guy from SNL and an A-list Asian character actress. What are the chances?
