Bill Cosby Tweeted From Prison, Asserting His Status As A Civil Rights Icon

The list of people who might want to consider sending a cease and desist letter to Bill Cosby encouraging him to keep their names out of his mouth is growing. Sadly, most of them are dead but the estates of Dorothy Heights, James Baldwin, John Hope Franklin, and Nelson Mandela take note: There’s a convicted rapist out here who calls himself The Educator and The Political Prisoner comparing himself to your loved ones. The disrespect. The nerve. The unmitigated gall. And on Twitter no less!

Here’s this jive turkey’s Thanksgiving message.

Bill is currently serving three to ten years in prison for drugging and sexually assaulting Andrea Constand. Last week, he gave an interview to Black Press USA from prison in which he implied a current lack of remorse, and expressed a planned future lack of remorse. And if you still weren’t getting it that Bill believes, above all else, that he is the victim, Bill (or his proxy) #tooktotwitter to punctuate the issue. According to Bill, in the immortal words of James Baldwin, “the truth is in the pudding”, or something like that. (via Deadline):

Clearly pleased with the article, on Thursday the former pudding pop pitchman urged fans — particularly African Americans — to buy a subscription to a black-owned media outlet this holiday season.

A quick search for “Bill Cosby” on BPUSA’s website makes it clear why, according to ole’ puddin’ head, BPSUSA is A-OK. Some of the headlines there include:

Bill Cosby Spoke From Prison And The Whole World Listened

Bill Cosby Helped Harriet Tubman Free The Slaves And He Wasn’t Even Born Yet

Prosecutors Emails Show Race And Politics Motivated Case Against Bill Cosby

Martin Luther King Jr.’s Ghost Appeared In Courtroom And Openly Wept During Bill Cosby’s Trial

I must admit, some outlets that are absolutely not represented in the reporting above, have been guilty of playing fast and loose with the facts and could, under certain circumstances, be considered “fake news.” But if Bill gets to play make believe, so can I, I mean they. Most of those headlines above are 100 percent certifiable (just not the ones I made up). Bill also tweeted those aforementioned comparisons to prominent black thinkers and civil rights heroes who didn’t star in Ghost Dad (1990).

Unlike noted historian, scholar, and fellow Presidential Medal of Freedom recipient John Hope Franklin (Yes, Bill received this honor in 2002 from President George W. Bush. And Kayne had the nerve to say he didn’t care about black people, psssh!), Bill has managed to fight racial injustice, star in Leonard Part 6 (1987), AND allegedly drug and sexually assault scores of women over several decades. Bill’s left more DNA laying around than any of those other people combined!
