James McAvoy Says He’s Been Told He’s “Too Short” For Roles

Short King, James McAvoy is letting the dark side of Hollywood out of the bag. You thought women had it bad in Hollywood? Buckle up because it’s time for the real bias and disregard of the media elite to be revealed: sometimes men don’t get roles because they’re… too short. Can you believe it? Tom Cruise is quaking in his lifts

Now we know why Tom Cruise has to produce his own movies: he’s too short to get cast in anything by those Hollywood bigots! James is currently on the HBO show His Dark Materials and while promoting it during an interview with The Telegraph, he revealed that he too suffers from discrimination in Hollywood even though he’s a charming, good-looking straight white man with an accent that can make even a story about testicle blood sound whimsical. James McAvoy is 5’7″ and said that his shortness has cost him roles.

“As a shorter man, I sometimes get told I’m too short for a role… Or even when I get a role, I’m made to feel like, well, of course, we’re going to have to do something about that.”

James went on to say that one time an actress playing his love interest wondered if he was “right” for the role “because nobody would believe [he] would be with someone like her.”

“That was a kick in the nuts… I was like, “All right, now I’ve got to pretend that I really like you for eight more weeks. This is going to be really tough, because you’re so far up yourself.” It got really interesting, that relationship… Sometimes you’re made to feel like you’re not good-looking enough to get a role.

Wow, that actress did not deserve this Short King and I hope she had to wear sole-less flats all filming so that he looked taller in comparison and she got callouses like you wouldn’t believe. Hope she tripped over the foot-stool he used to gain inches in height when next to her for standing scenes, eh? Leave James alone!
