Will.i.am Claims A Qantas Flight Attendant Called The Cops On Him Because He’s Black

TMZ reports that will.i.am has tweeted a tale of his noise-canceling headphones leading to a confrontation with an allegedly racist Qantas Airlines flight attendant which led to him being met by the cops when his flight landed at Sydney Airport in Australia yesterday. The Black Eyed Pea retaliated by tweeting the flight attendant’s name and badge number. Semi-doxed down under!

This all started when the Brisbane-to-Australia flight was getting ready to land and the crew called for everyone to put their electronic devices away so that radio waves didn’t eff with the avionics and kill everyone aboard or whatever aviation myth you believe in.

The rapper was on a flight from Brisbane to Sydney when he says the flight attendants were preparing for landing and asked passengers to store their electronic equipment. Will.i.am says he was using his laptop but didn’t hear the announcement because he was wearing noise-canceling headphones.

Those noise-canceling cans are no joke. The good ones can drown out the worst type of children!

He tweeted, “I’m currently on a flight from Brisbane to Sydney.” “I’m sorry to say me and my group have experienced they worse service due to an overly aggressive flight attendant… I don’t want to believe she racist. But she has clearly aimed all her frustrations only at the people of colour.”

The flight attendant reportedly went off on him and then someone phoned ahead to make sure the cops were threre. ALl this because of Bose or Beats or whatever the celebs use.

Will.i.am then posted a photo of one of the cops who met the plane, saying “@Qantas I was making music wearing noise cancelling headphones on the plane… I’m sorry I couldn’t hear the P.A…I complied when she’s tapped me on the shoulder to put my laptop away… It’s sad that your #RacistFlightAttendant sent the police…”

Amongst his several tweets, he dropped the lady’s name a couple of times and her badge number (flight attendants have badge numbers?) which got him some pushback in the Twittersphere. Here was his response:

Will also said that this kind of thing is “what Twitter is for…we are supposed to call out wrong doings so we can have a safer more compassionate world.”

A spokesperson for Qantas says that their flight attendant isn’t a white supremacist and this was all because of those damn headphones.

A Qantas spokesman told The Independent: “There was a misunderstanding on board, which seems to have been exacerbated by will.i.am wearing noise cancelling headphones and not being able to hear instructions from crew. We completely reject the suggestion this had anything to do with race. We’ll be following up with will.i.am and wish him well for the rest of the tour.”

Whatever happened, I’m so asking for a pair of those headphones for Christmas this year. They obviously work really well.
