The Company Bringing Back James Dean From The Dead Will Do The Same With Many, Many Other Dead Celebrities

Even though people have seemingly reacted quite strongly in the “please stop this” category when it comes to creating these hologram/CGI bastardizations of dead celebrities, the company who plans to make money off the enterprise is not giving up. They will make a profit off dead people whose talents cannot be recreated because they are dead. The will find a way to make it appealing to watch a movie while thinking: “Hmm, so that’s a person who’s playing James Dean-who’s playing a character? …So actual James Dean has nothing to do with this? He’s just dead?”

The dead people coming back unnecessarily through technology trend is here to stay, it seems. Variety reports that the same company that’s putting James Dean in a new movie is going to do the same to other celebrities. Worldwide XR plans to put digital humans in traditional film, virtual reality, and augmented reality.

Worldwide XR has the rights to over 400 celebrities, athletes and sports teams. Yes honey, they have full “teams”. Why watch the current Super Bowl when we can just digitally recreate the Super Bowl using dead football players? Celebrities they plan on bringing back from the dead include Aaliyah, Amelia Earhart, Bettie Page, Burt Reynolds, Andre The Giant, Lou Gehrig, Bette Davis, and Maya Angelou.

CEO of Worldwide XR, Travis Cloyd, tried to drag the celebrity culture of today by suggesting these dead celebrities recreated through high-tech developments in current-day technology, are timeless, while influencers are a flash-in-the-pan:

“Influencers will come and go, but legends will never die.”

I think you mean: “Influencers will come and go, but we will never let the dead rest so long as we can churn a dollar out of using their likeness.”

And Travis also thinks that the naysayers will just have to get over it, and they promise to not ruin the images of any celebrity (it’s gonna happen) saying:

“We will do our due diligence.”

There’s also more James Dean to come. This guy is really trying to make dead James Dean happen:

“There is a lot more to come for James Dean. Think of it as James Dean 2.0.”

This makes no sense to me. Truly. Older actresses have a hard enough time getting roles and now CGI Bette Davis is going to sweep in and snatch a role from them?! But let’s be real, there won’t be a huge market for this. This is going to end one way: Extremely Niche Fetish Porn.
