Whitney Houston Allegedly Wanted To Run Up On Wendy Williams Back In The Day
Robyn Crawford is doing the rounds of the TV shows and the interviews and the blah, blah, blah, because she has a new book out about Whitney Houston and their love affair. Robyn made her way to the Wendy Williams show, and if you don’t know about Wendy Williams and Whitney Houston, you’re about to learn. They didn’t really vibe. And Wendy didn’t know it at the time, but back in the day Robyn says Whitney was ready to take things old-school after hearing Wendy talking about her on the radio so much. Whitney was gonna run up on Wendy.
The Root says that Wendy Williams is lucky she didn’t get jumped outside her workplace by a young Whitney Houston because she almost did. What a moment that would have been. First, you need to hear this interview from 2003 if you haven’t because this is fucking iconic.. Back then they had a radio interview and shit got real real.
One of the best parts (apart from Whitney saying: “Oh my Lord–have I waited for this day?”–what an opening statement) is Whitney going:
“If this were back in the day in Newark, I’d meet you outside.”
Apparently she almost did. Robyn appeared on The Wendy Williams Show yesterday and told the story of how Wendy almost had a “chat” with Robyn and Whitney. We all know how “chats” go in the streets.
Robyn says Whitney was “fed up” in that fateful interview with Wendy. And after hearing Wendy talk more shit on her radio show, some of which ended up being true and is written about in Robyn’s book, Whitney made a plan to come after Wendy. Robyn says she and Whitney were going to wait outside, and find this Wendy Williams character in real-time:
“We were gonna… We didn’t know what you looked like and our plan was to go down to Hudson Street and squat… waiting for you right outside. …We weren’t gonna fight, we just wanted to see you face-to-face and… have a chat.”
Wendy admits she “can’t fight” and would have run away. Wise choice, but if you can’t fight why you always talking so much shit? Bad combination, mama. Ask Andy Dick. Meanwhile, Wendy should start getting her bodyguards to check the streets for Nicki Minaj before she leaves work, now that this idea of a “face-to-face chat” has been put on the table.
