In case you somehow missed it before, Moby is vegan. And he’s not one of those rare live and let live, keep it to yourself type of vegans either. No, Moby is a shout it from the rooftops, try to restrict the choices of people on SNAP (food stamps) type of vegans. Thing is, sometimes Moby’s mouth to is too full of bean sprouts and cashew cheese to tell you all about it. So he’s taken measures to ensure that when you see Moby walking towards you down the street, you know well in advance to protect your low-fat latte before he passes you and slaps it out of your hand. Moby got the word A N I M A L tattooed down one arm, and R I G H T S tattooed down the other, in a font so big you can probably see it from space.
Hey, I know it’s a lot, but at least it doesn’t read I REALLY DID FUCK on one arm and NATALIE PORTMAN on the other. Last month, Moby got another tattoo telegraphing his diet.
His poor little neck is already doing so much work. This just seems cruel. But as John Legend famously once said; his body, his choice! But where is the art? He looks like a generic brand box that reads VEGAN CEREAL. However, fellow strident veganKat Von D is positively green. She also got a new tattoo but if there’s a message about not eating animal products in there, you’re gonna need x-ray specs to read it. KVD got a coverup on her arm in the style of a blackout tattoo.
Now, for someone with such a rebel heart, KVD sure does put a lot of stock in what people think about her. Apparently, some people criticized her blackout tattoo, and instead of ignoring them like any legitimate self-respecting badass goth princess would, she got mad and posted many, many words explaining her choice.
This must be what they call vegan synergy, because now Moby knows who to go to when the time comes to black out his arm pieces should some rude animal ever question his activism as he described it in his memoir.
