A Less Demonic Sonic Is Featured In The New “Sonic The Hedgehog” Trailer
Sonic The Hedgehog was originally scheduled for a November 2019 release but Sonic’s appearance in the first trailer was so disturbing and wrong, it was chased off the internet and told not to come back until it had taken a long hard look in the mirror. Jeff Fowler, the movie’s director, took the note and delayed the release until February 14, 2020 so Sonic could get a digital makeover. It was kind of like that TV show The Swan, and America voted that Sonic was too ugly to live. Now that the bandages are off and the swelling has gone down, Sonic is ready for his closeup!
Here’s the trailer featuring the retooled Sonic. They also changed the featured song from Coolio’s Gangster’s Paradise to JJ Fad’s Supersonic, which makes so much more sense. It’s a little too late for those of us who saw the first version because, unfortunately, nightmares of being chased by an unspecified blue rodent with the hands of a human child and Joe Biden dentures, last a lifetime.
The new trailer received a warm welcome on Twitter. I had no idea so many people were invested in Sonic’s (mortal?) soul.
In conclusion. God, i am so happy this actually happened. Hard to believe but paramount actually pulled it off with the help with sega and sonic fans alike, and for that i deeply commend them. If none of us spoke out this would have never happened so i'm just gonna say; Thank u.- pic.twitter.com/54kuYbmX7o

Side by side comparison of the old and new design for #Sonic. Amazing congrats to the VFX team for working so hard to pull this off for #SonicMovie
How often do you see a studio owning up to a mistake and reworking a whole movie? Props are deserved here. I'll support that. pic.twitter.com/ZrOBTUbemP— Joshua Ovenshire (@TheJovenshire) November 12, 2019
But of course, there are some people who aren’t too happy about what happened to Sonic. There’s plenty of chatter about a CONSPIRACY THEORY that original Sonic was purposefully abominable.
Call me crazy, but I believe the original Sonic the Hedgehog trailer was a false flag meant to generate outrage, followed by rabid goodwill (and the accompanying box office interest) after "revising" the CGI to a superior model they clearly had all along. We're all complicit

I'm sticking to the conspiracy theory that the initial run of Sonic teasers was just a REALLY good marketing stunt. The proof is in the compositing. The quality of compositing in the new trailers is SO much better that I'm convinced the old ones were meant to look like shit.

And the nihilists and misanthropes of the world just want the old demonic Sonic back.
The Sonic the Hedgehog movie creators original design for the character has been CENSORED. RT if you believe in free speech and artistic integrity. Bring back nightmare Sonic.

We had greatness in the palm of our hands… and we let it slip away#NotMySonic

I prefer the old design. I felt more sympathy for the character when he looked like a mutant freak who everyone hated. Now he's just another cute sassy Marvel mascot for Redditors to soy wojak face over. #NotMySonic #SonicMovie

I miss the old Sonic design on the left. Just look at his shock, like a sexual predator caught by Chris Hansen. Such a unique design pic.twitter.com/QgV51FDCez

netflix should fund completion of bad looking version of sonic the movie @reedhastings

With all this hullabaloo over what’s essentially a crappy kids movie based on a video game, I’m beginning to put a little more stock into those conspiracy theories.
